Rainbow Six: Siege - Catch All

Guess the PC gamer guy never played an old RB6 game before. He wouldn't be surprised about the heartbeat monitor.

Oh yes talk non-respawn to me baby

I LOL'd. Thanks.

I'm a little thrown off about the 3-minute thing as well.

For a multiplayer game, I really don't mind the quick rounds.

3 is just really short though. Rainbow Six: Vegas was 5 minutes for straight team deathmatch mode (by default), and that's already faster console-ized Rainbow Six.

If it's slow deliberate movement over a small area, then I'm still in. If it's fast sprinty movement over a larger area, then I'm more likely to be out.

Good on Ubisoft for putting the female call-outs in the trailer. At least two of the ten operators are women, which is still two more than I ever would have expected. This home reno sim is looking better all the time.

Re-introduce Terrorist Hunt and I'll buy this 100x.

This is absolutely the thing I want most.

Yup. So many hours spent in terrorist hunt with friends. Not sure I'd bother if there's no PvE.

This isn't a new thing for the Rainbow Six franchise.

Ah, good—the only one I've spent any real time with was Vegas 2, where the electronics guy was Asian and the demo guy was black. I guess it just seems unusual these days to feature prominently playable female characters in a bang-boom-shoot game.

Playing BF: Hardline hostage rescue last night reminded me of why I used to play so much CS and that this is the game I really want. I hope this lives up to the hype.

You're all signed up for the beta, I assume?

I don't really want to burn out on it bug testing and balancing so I have restrained myself for now. They are calling it an alpha so I'm assuming it's not one of these typical demos that they call a beta.

Looks great! So many fun rounds of RB6 years ago.

So what is going to be the platform of choice with this group?

I may end up double dipping, depending on what I can convince my friends to do or not do.

They're going to want to get it on the Xbone though. It's an annoyingly uphill battle getting them to play anything on the PC

PC for me.

Does anyone know if this is going to be a quality PC release, or is it going to be like the Vegas releases?

If it's the latter, I might be on XBone.

No one knows at this point.

PC here, last console I own is PS1.

Same

If this uses Ubi's sh*t platform I'm probably going to be out on PC. They have f*cked up so many PC games in the last few years.

I haven't had any problems with uplay with the new asscreed and farcry 4.

That said, JUST LET IT PATCH IN THE BACKGROUND, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? WHY DO I NEED TO PATCH FARCRY EVERY TIME I LOAD IT? UPLAY IS RUNNING. COME ON.

*GASP*

But it actually works just fine.

Uplay is the worst, and my brain hates the Farcry 3-4 engine (which I pray this isn't using), but I plan to get this on PC anyway.

You said it so I don't have to. Hah.

PS4 anyone? It's all I got... until I do a mega upgrade so I can play Star Citizen, heh.

People need to check their emails... just saying...

ABOUT THE CLOSED ALPHA

•What’s a Closed Alpha? What is the purpose?

A Closed Alpha is an early testing period with a limited number of players and a small sample of content from the full game. This is a work-in-progress product and players are likely to experience some issues that will affect their gameplay experience. Our team’s main goals during this time are to:

- Generate feedback from a small, dedicated group of players about the gameplay, their online experience, and anything else we can use to improve the game

- Test the stability and the online infrastructures on a limited sample of players in order help us handle more players on our servers in the future

•Where can I play the Closed Alpha?

The Closed Alpha will be on PC-only, although the full game will be available on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

If you are selected to participate in the Closed Alpha, we will send you an email with instructions on how to access the game.

•Why is Closed Alpha PC-only?

For Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, PC is the lead development platform, that’s why we feel it’s natural to start by testing the game on this platform.

•What are the PC system requirements?

The minimum Alpha PC specs are:

OS: Windows 7 x64, Windows 8 x64, Windows 8.1 x64
CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3 GHz -- AMD FX-8120 Eight-Core 2.6 GHz
RAM: 8 GB
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 -- AMD Radeon HD 7970 / R9 280X
VRAM: 2 GB

Note: These specs are the ones required for Alpha testing and are not the final PC specs. We are still working on optimizing the game and the launch specs will be lower than the Alpha specs.

The minimum Internet broadband is: 512Kbps download / 256Kbps upload.

•What are the languages supported during the Closed Alpha phase?

The Rainbow 6 Closed Alpha and all related materials will be exclusively in English. Please make sure to submit your feedback to our team in English.

•When is the Closed Alpha and how long will it last?

We will announce this information at a later time. Stay tuned to the Rainbow Six blog, the subreddit and of course Facebook and Twitter for further announcements.

•How big is the download?

The download will be about 7-8 GB. Make sure you have enough space on your hard drive, and give yourself some time for the download.

•What content will be available during the Closed Alpha?

During the Closed Alpha, you will have access to a restricted portion of our game: PVP only with limited maps and modes. More information will also be explained thoroughly in our Closed Alpha Game Guide once it is made public.

•Will there be more content in the full game at launch?

Yes. The content available in the Closed Alpha is a small sample of the full scope of the game. There will be more maps, operators and other features available at game launch. We keep the content limited during this testing period for more focused testing and feedback.

•Where can I join the Rainbow Six Siege community?

Join the discussion on our Official Subreddit, or here on the official forums. You can also connect with us on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.

•Where can I get the latest news and updates about the Closed Alpha and the game?

The official Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege devblog is a key source of news and information. You can also join the Official Subreddit or here on the forums. Alternatively, connect with us on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.
