Minecraft Multiplayer: GWJ World

She can't take much more captain.

Started mining. Gonna try and start a tree farm as well, to help build up some wood. Tons of stone ready for use. I found a cave at the base of the hill, and if you want, once we're done mining we can seal it up, or you can use it for whatever you'd like. I actually found a big open cave with many routes to explore, I think next time I get on, I will do that.

Soo... just to confirm... the stuff in the basement is for the above building? You have done a lot of work and I don't want to loot it all without confirming.

That's never a good thing.

Unless they make a new STALKER game out of it!

Oh man, I was out driving today when it suddenly dawned on me that:
ground pixel art (clay/wool) + map + picture frame = wall pixel art

Yeah but you have to do some funky things on the ground to get it looking right.

Skylar floated this idea to me recently, I say it's too much work for my liking

Forget them Q. I like the cut of your jib. Let's pick a place, build us some nice stone/cement pylons and build a platform at Y=90 out in the middle of nowhere. We'll mark out some map corners and get mappy with it.

Yes! Absolutely! It's all for your project. Take whatever you need.

Well see, I don't think maps get updated while they hang on a wall. Yeah, just checked the wiki and it confirms it. So you can build your pixel art, update the map to take a snapshot, then completely dismantle the blocks!

But yes, 128x128 for the smallest map zoom is a pretty heft chunk of real estate, but then I've built entire mob grinders that big.

I will get back there tomorrow probably as the expedition has gone well and is almost to a point where I can leave it.

If you want to do something, we need to finish the fence, there is only one corner complete so far... and the ramp out needs to be turned into some sort of road. I'm still working on house design, but I need suggestions. Pick a room and design it if you want. We also need all kinds of livestock (specifically cattle and sheep).

So in short, the lodge still needs a lot of work, even the portal isn't working right and had to be shut down.

Those of you on the north side of the canal, I'm thinking of driving a railway shaft through at about y=26, z=-307. Does that impinge on any of your plans? I can add a dogleg and snake around the north side of town if I need to.

Edit: On its current course it'll just graze the far side of the lots and be mostly under the roadway.

I think my basement walls are at -306. Running east-west, yes? If you can move to be underneath the road, then none of us with plots will be down there. Just have to be under the sewers.

QStone, my son and I accidentally revealed a big desert east of my fishing hut on my causeway between spawn and jungle.

You could probably use that area.

I thought it was a desert island, but it is really just a far off desert.
We looted a desert temple and lit a desert village, but we were really only there for cactus.

check the overviewer there is a underground tunnel/future rail way running directly north of spawn storage house up to my desert place with few stops along the way. I believe its 54 deep and 227/228 eastwest

Who built the construction around the skeleton spawner deep under the north side of town? Lots of stacked stone and redstone wiring. The stairs seem to connect to CathodeRayTube's place.

It's right around where I was planning on building the railroad station. I can easily build the station further east or west, but I want to be sure I don't impinge on the built-up area first.

Can you post where it is on the map? Either screen, link, or co-ords?

I did the skeleton spawner which is around y 12. I am not sure where you are talking about. Because it is more east and outside the city. Take a screen cap and maybe someone could identify it.

Me and Nuean have been slowly building the double spawner there. I haven't been working too hard on it though.

y=26, z=-307 is right under the NW quadrant of the iron farm.

so I am thinkin somethin like this?

I have no qualms for a railway under it, I don't think plav has any plans for out there other than leveling it to x=64

this is the tunnel I was talking about in dark red

Yes; though I can detour it around the iron farm easily enough if I had to. The tunnel under the town is currently centered on z=-310, with the floor at y=26.

The spawner chamber I encountered:

I can detour the tunnel to go under the space without any trouble, I'd just like to know if there's anything else I should watch out for. I don't think I damaged anything aside from the one stone block, but you never know.

That's higher than my current tunnel but it looks like they'll cross near the lake. Might be a good place to build the main station.

Shouldn't need to at that level. I don't think plav has any plans for out there at that level, I know I do not, just... no wooden doors

Here's the overviewer loc on that screenshot you took.

Bukkit is (finally) updated and the multiverse suite works fine. I haven't imported the most recent archived GWJ world yet, but the others are back up on mc.hannenfamily.info. Inventory management for per-world inventory isn't quite set up yet, but it'll be there by the time GWJ World 8 and its Nether/End dimensions are online. Probably tomorrow morning.

I crossed the other tunnel at y=54, and will probably drive it back down and dip under the edge of the iron farm.

Just go low under the spawner and potential basements on that row and I think the rail line will be good!

So Xek and I have done a bunch of work on the horse farm, it's not finished yet, but it's up and running. If you are in need of a horse you can head try and head out to the farm. Just be ultra careful on the road up, it is ridiculously dangerous without a horse! You will have to bring your own saddle and food for breeding right now. I would also bring a lead or two as the best option is to select what horses you want and lead them to the breeding pen we have set up.

The one thing we ask is that you please breed a horse before taking. From what I understand breeding gets you stronger and faster horses anyway. I also understand that the color and markings are all random when breeding and it doesn't matter what two horses you breed. If that's true it's a shame, I wish they had made it so that the markings and color of the two horses determined what kinds of outcomes you could get. Oh well.

Hopefully Xek and I will get a portal up and running soon. We have to figure out where we are going to place it first. Once that is up we'll make a safe passage from there to spawn through the nether and it will be much easier to get to the horse farm.

I went under, but not that far under. The space is about six or so blocks high and has the basement floor as a ceiling. Since the rail lines aren't in yet it's still pretty easy to dig it even deeper, so let me know if you want more headroom there.

Also be sure to keep it well light up.

That's not going to be a problem, though there are a couple of potential leaks at the moment where it intersects side-caves I haven't blocked off yet. They look to be pretty well lit, since they're under spawn, but I need to go in with the glass and make sure.
