There's now a thriving cow farm at spawn. Had to herd those jerks all the way from the swamps in the east.

I love early-game Minecraft colonization projects.

I'm vicariously Minecrafting by refreshing the Overviewer map periodically from work. It's almost as much fun watching the area spring up.

Overviewer was rendering some chunks in the desert strangely earlier, but it seems to have corrected itself.

Exknos and I are scouting out a couple of locations over at the extreme hills biome. we'll mark up the spot we choose tomorrow.

I'll be out there as well, probably along some biome boundary. At least with large biomes, there's plenty of room for everyone. Don't forget the POI signs for the overviewer.

It has been doing that all over for me. Chunks are being mixed in from different locations seemingly at random.

I sort of want to do that in the world itself now- something like recreating a chunk's worth of jungle deep in the middle of the desert.

I tried to create a missing chunk several worlds back; was digging a 64x64 hole down to bedrock.

Would have to fill the bottom layer with water to mimic the blue void effect.

Well, technically a chunk is 16 x 16.

Oh. Well, I might have succeeded at my attempt at those dimensions...

Yeah, there appears to be some sort of bug there with chunks getting transposed into weird places. It usually works itself out. I've upgraded to the latest 1.5 compatible release, but I've noticed that issue persists.

The desert bald spots near one of the villages was a natural formation, I think.

It is. There's another one just north of that in the jungle.

Noob question here...

How can I start doing this? Website or program?

We going to start rendering the nether too?

What, already? It's barely been a day!

Well yeah, we already found and plundered a fortress.

You can plunder my nether fortress anytime.

What's a map poi sign?

I went and mined a lot of iron and now I'm extending the track past the village near spawn. Also I think someone mentioned this on the server but I think we should extend that back wall near the track and build a station there and have it be part of the back wall.

Thanks for the arrows, Aries.

Oh, did you guys know you can now sprint up regular staircases?

See that little wooden door in the wall? That's where I'm planning on building the station. Hope to be done with that tonight.

Also, does anyone care what we name that village? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Goodjeropolis East 3.

Crazy Town.

Then we can call the rail line the Crazy Train.

Nah, that's...
*sunglasses
crazy.

YEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!

Died a lot. Realized that my rail hub is too small. Tore it down partially, will rebuild tomorrow.

The rail bits are in the right place now though, I think.

Nether Brick takes a lot of effort to build with.

I walled off and light up the second western village. I plan on fortifying it more when I get some more materials.

I kind of borrowed the village at (-304, -192) or so. Needed to get settled and didn't have lots o' time to play. I'm building a mine underneath and am upgrading the village minimally, and plan for it to be a communal resource. I'll spark out for some land and build my own thing soon.

Thinking we could name it Good Springs, but there's no Doc there.

Looking at the Overviewer just now I realized that I setup my little farm/base in the wrong place last night. Was planning to go to the west side of the big lake west from the walled village and I stopped about halfway there thinking the west side of the small lake was what I wanted in game.

Hoping that work eases up soon so I can get in soon! I'll probably mostly be working on building up central spawn stuff, seems to be what I usually end up doing.

I struck out north through the jungle, right through the unexplored bit. Huge biomes are huge. Found a temple to camp in for the night, and ransacked it while I was there.

You're welcome!

DemonChieftain and I are working on a neat project underground. We've taken control of two intersecting chasms and are turning them into a muti-tiered self sustaining city. Hoping to make a right proper home for dwarves of all castes.
