Minecraft Multiplayer: GWJ World

That beacon is very cool! And the temple is a great setting for it.

Since the temple looks to be completed, should I relocate the dragon egg to put on display?

My sister has been looking for a Minecraft sever to join and was wondering if she could get on the white list. Her user name is Conchobhar1(Why she chose that of all things as her account name is beyond me). I don't know what the policy on family members joining the sever, but I understand if you wan't to keep it restricted to people on the site itself, thanks for considering it ether way!

compared to everyone else's, yes.

I was over in Cordelia this morning looking for a plot. If it's okay I'd like to take plot 1B I think it was, right to the south of the gate.

Who was working on Cliffport? Is there any more work planned? It looks incomplete.

It was Feegle mainly, and AFAIK anyone is still welcome to add to it.

Thanks to LupusUmbrus and AbsurdDoc, a lot of progress was made on Cliffport this afternoon. I just want to extend the invitation to anyone else who might like to contribute. The basic plan is one-story buildings at waterfront, one-story buildings waterside of the upper road, and eventually 2-3 story buildings on the inland side of the upper road. Hopefully, that'll give the impression of a steep construction. I've been mostly using wool and timber, but all styles are welcome - I think patchwork is going to look good in that environment.

Mostly me, yes. I've been very busy meatside, and haven't had a chance to do much. Typically, what I do is log in and build one house before logging off for a week or so.

I've also run into something of a design problem, I think. The top row of houses is going to require pulling down a chunk of mountain ridge to squeeze them in on the north side of the upper road. The northeast ridge - across from the wooden house - is pretty much the only thing keeping there from being a view of Cliffport from the future Cordelia Wall, and I'm not certain whether tearing it down is a good thing or a bad thing. It's a thing, regardless, I guess.

In other news: I dug a spiral staircase in the basement of the Customs House and connected that tunnel to the Railway station so travelers could avoid climbing over that massive ridge, inadvertently discovering a mostly-lit-and-explored ravine deep under Cordelia. I haven't secured the tunnel yet, so be warned that there may be mobs finding their way under Cliffport and into the rail station until I get a chance to shore up defenses.

Finally, to the question that was originally asked: Build away. I've been stumped for inspiration lately, but my original plan called for a few more tall houses on the north side of the upper road and little else. Which is not to say you can't add other stuff if you like. There are LOTS of materials in several houses scattered all over town - the small half-timber on the upper road (and its basement), the original cabin by the docs, and the wool donation chest out in the open to the west of the docks.

To the poor soul who was creepered to death beside the Cordelia gateway structure: Please excuse the rude welcome from the natives! The damage has been repaired.

Yeah, about that crevasse.....

To top it off, it has an absolutely gigantic abandoned mine at the bottom of it. I've been working on it and mining for the other levels of the beacon, but clearing that thing is going to be a LONG task. You might want to go ahead and put in defenses.

I passed an abandoned mine on my stair down to a branch mine. I've closed the top of the stairway, in order to plant the short tree at the keep.

Come to think of it, I still have a chest down there.

Anyhow, MG, help yourself to the iron in the keep. There should be nearly two stacks. I'm out of diamonds for tools, so I may go back into a mining phase. I should find plenty more iron when I do.

Also, I re-jiggered the corner at the public utility building/chapel. If it is not not anyone's liking, I can turn it back.

There was some minor sqare footage lost from the PUC.

And, in case it had to be said, the keep is a public building. Just try to replenish anything you borrow if its almost out.

That's the one, Ghostship. It's a very cool place, and I have built a sort of safehouse down there so I have some place to run to when it hits the fan. Just look for the sandstone columns.

I also stumbled across that ravine/abandoned mine when making the Cordelia rail line. Most of the lighting and signs are my work. I just lit it up for the halibut. There's a door near the top that connects to the rail line.

That explains the lighting I found. Thank you for that!

I use the torches on the right, going out, method.

Spent some time in the deeper parts of the cavern. You may find my torches. Keeping them on the left, should take you to the branch mine under the keep, if you end up down there.

Minecraft 1.4.4 is out. Server needs an update. Mmmhmm

Nothing major, all bug fixes.

Client update, then, I presume?

There is also now a "branch tunnel" from the bottom of the staircase at the first station that leads straight out there. At some point in the near future, I will probably enclose that bridge in glass and add some doors to allow travel in and out - that'll keep the mobs from encroaching into the tunnel from Cliffport to the Rail Line.

The server is now updated to 1.4.4.

[Edit] Clarification.

I'm sure Shawnosaurus would say feel free to claim one.

I was heading out to Cordelia too to claim a plot or apartment. I haven't put my name on one yet (the trek was long from my island home in the south east) but its good to know there is still spots open.

Check the overviewer.

Sometimes I wish the Nether had a sub-Nether that you could enter to travel faster in the Nether.

Mojobox - I put a chest with what I had at the feet of your Colossus. That was quite a journey to get there!

I think the Blaze farm is broken. Every time I run past it, I see a few blazes appear to have escaped and are hanging around outside.

Blazes can spawn anywhere around nether fortresses. I've used the farm over the past week. Unless it broke today, those are probably random spawns.
