Minecraft Multiplayer: GWJ World

Torches will set off TNT as well. There is a slight delay but it does go off, good for using it as a delay fuse. How I set it off was to place the torch on the wall then build a box of TNT around it. I was doing something else and then BAM it went off. It set a giant stack off before I could finish shaping it. The aftermath is just west of the end of the iron road.

Also I suggest getting flint and steel to set off your hand Quintin, just use /iron and get a flint and combine. then you look at what you want to light and right click.

Great for setting off forest fires and burning down your house as I found in SP.

Yeah, I was going to use flint to light 'er up.

Okay, so I found what seemed like an unclaimed spot West of the highway, behind some monument made of rock and water.

I'm nowhere near as creative as some of you guys, so this seemed like a good spot for my Dark Tower, which so far is a misshapen hill partially encased in obsidian.

Come now, the Dark League of Darksome Darkmages has *some* standards. A lumpy pudding does not a tower make.

Hey you there! Interested in the ride of your blocky lives? Sick of that water canal being too slow?

Well don't worry, have I got the thing for you! Hop on down to Nubslovecake's Under the Hot Water Fountain Water Slide.

Directions:
Located by the very scenic pixelated Kirby NE of spawn. You can take the northern diamond torch path from spawn (before the tunnel), or do a /warp fort_cracker and look for an white arrow and head in that direction till you see the Kirby.
(/warp water_slide)

Features:
-Several turns! Using the new fangdangled techniques that the top scientists at NLC industries have designed turns in a water canal system! Amazing!
-Inverse waterfalls! Ride up waterfalls and give the finger to gravity! Who needs it, up up and away!
-Enjoy the sights! Grey rocks by torch light! Bits of dirt and grass! Running water!
-Minimal Steering! Less of the keyboard, more of the going! You will be propelled forward by the powers of fluid dynamics!

Requirements:
-A healthy attitude. Mr.Frownypants isn't welcome here!
-A boat (use command /i 333), unless you want to go swimming!
-Try to avoid crashing into walls and breaking the boat, you might get splinters!
-Hands inside the vehicle at all times!

Disclaimer: The project is currently under construction and is prone to cause bodily damage that may or not include suffocating in ceilings, crashing into walls, drowning, falling large distances, burning on obscure objects, getting brain damage from the sheer awesomeness.

Advertisements aside. I formally request a warp to the entrance of the ride if possible.

And here's a trick. You know when you can't pick up items you spawn? Well try this trick. In your toolbar inventory drop an item that will free up one space. Here's an example, you drop a stack of TNT ready to blow up a mountainside, but can't! Instead you drop a shovel by pressing Q from your toolbar and wazzam you pick up TNT.

Anyone know who put the skyroad that extends NEish near the pixel kirby? I'm just finding it bit redundant as there are bit of roads on the ground that folk can take if they like.

:'( Give me time, I've been playing the game since this morning.

The lumpy pudding is the base. I have interesting plans for the tower proper. If I don't run out of energy.

Now that my epic mansion is nearly completed, I'll probably be seeing you all a lot more often on the MP server. Is everyone mostly using Vent, or is it hit-or-miss as to how people are communicating?

Also, mad props to everyone involved in the warping structure.

It's kinda hit-or-miss. I've been on vent and been the only one there. Of course, the other day I got ready to log out and saw there were a couple of others on but had never heard a peep out of them.

I should jump on Vent when I play, but I have not been. I'm generally watching TV while I play, which makes it hard to listen on Vent.

I finally am staying connected long enough to do something. I got the basic platform for my first monument built at lunch today. I'm going to have to spend some time working on my design before I start placing blocks for said statue of greatness, but the long weekend promises to be productive.

I try to get on Vent when I'm playing, its fun to chat while you build things. I've been going through The Wire while I play my single player game.

Can we get an updated list of warp spots in the OP? Or is there a regularly updated list available somewhere else?

I'm lazy, so I just created another automated job to upload the raw warps file. Adding to the OP too.

Cool, thanks.

Here are my finished projects on the server.

These are my ships. You can kinda see the wreckage in the background.

Here is my floating island castle with a docked Airship.

The large ship and the airship both have cabins and a below deck to explore. Did it free form without a real plan going into it. The balloon on the airship is kinda lopsided.

The floating island is over the Northeastern sea. May I get a waypiont? Thanks.

Bugger that. That slide has some impressive size, notably drops meaning I might need to up my game. And I need to try that step waterfall thingy. Still mine requires practically no effort on the part of the player, which is what I believe an impressive feat.

I kept waiting for my boat to crash and explode but it never did. I was surprised.

Here you go Chiggie, I "lit" your work up a bit

Its the entrance to the first dungeon in Zelda. Tomorrow I will start construction on the dungeon itself and if it comes out well maybe I will attempt to do more of them

I love that Notch is in Europe. I get to wake up on Friday's to coffee and Minecraft magic. Let me wake up to magic, Notch!

I have decided that I can't make do with no summons at all on my project--since furnaces don't work right, the available materials are entirely too limited. So, I have established a shrine to Hephaestus of many devices, where I can consign items and fuel to his holy fires in exchange for what they would smelt into. (i.e. huck stuff into lava, then summon the results)

Interestingly enough, the first sacrifice was a chicken that spawned in the lava light and dove right in. O_O I interpret this to mean that the Big H really likes chicken.

The temple to Hephaestus must, of course, be improved as the first order of business with the bargain I've made. It's somewhere between 1/3 and 1/2 done now, I would say. After that, I can get back to the main project.

FYI, Hephaestus is the name of my server.

Heh. Excellent.

Until I resume work on the waterslide, there shall be a nice toasty ending for slide riders.

Ha! Mantis you fool! Now I can steal your product key!

Hey, guys, how do you type a big black blob?

A few notes.

1) Summoning or not, when working with obsidian plan carefully. Breaking out a few ill placed blocks takes time.

2) Working with huge amounts of obsidian in the dark is hard.

I'm thankful for the lack of an update. I need time to work on my monument to myself, since I got started late compared to everyone else.

Good point on the obsidian, MrDeVil. As a follow-up, how hard are iron and gold blocks to deal with?

Everything is crushed under the diamond pickaxe, except Obsidian and only for a short while.
