What a jerk rubbing it in everyone's face! How did he get it? I can't wait to do the same thing tonight!
Sig'ed!
A lot of games don't have three discrete frustrums or viewports so the edges get really distorted. Hopefully Star Citizen has proper support, although a high res Oculus Rift may be a better solution.
I'd never looked through the stretch goals before and while perusing the list just now I came across these:
"Extended hardcore flight sim controller support: Flight Chairs, multiple monitors, Track-IR, MFD (Multi Function Displays) and more on launch."
"The Hangar Module will feature Oculus Rift support."
Both goals have all ready been met.
Damn. System Requirements for the Hangar:
What are the minimum system requirements for the Hangar Module?
Windows 7 or 8 64-bit Dual Core CPU Intel: Core2 Duo 2.4Ghz AMD: Phenom X2 8GB of RAM NVidia Geforce 460GTX AMD Radeon HD5850 DirectX 11. Keep in mind that these are estimated system requirements and may change for the final release of the game.
Ya, they really need some punctuation in there. I can't tell if they saying "Windows 7 or 8 64-bit, Dual Core CPU" or "Windows 7 or 8, 64-bit Dual Core CPU".
I'm only running Windows 7 32-bit (but my CPU is 64-bit) so now I'm wondering if I'll even be able to run it.
Well a 64-bit CPU isn't going to help if you're on a 32-bit OS.
yeah, I'm short on the 8GB of RAM (4MB) and the video card (GTX 285).
Well a 64-bit CPU isn't going to help if you're on a 32-bit OS.
But.. more bits!
I know. The OS was free through work and it was back when hardly any software was 64-bit so seemed fine at the time. Guess I might have to look into an OS upgrade soon.
I have everything except the RAM (6 instead of 8), so I really hope I can run the thing.

The license is for either 32 or 64 bit. You'd have to get the disc or ISO and reinstall, but if you have a valid key it'll work.

Hooray!
I meet all of it!
Win 8 64, 12 GB ram and a 660 GTX 3GB card.
That would have sucked if it said a quad core CPU minimum.

And so it is. I never realized that. The DVD it came with specifically says 32-bit so I just assumed that's all it would work with. I'm sure I can find 64-bit media around here somewhere.
Aawww yeah!
Hold on. So the 325 ship I bought a while back doesn't count as a game package?

Your account must have at least one of the following ships in order to access the hangar.
I assume you have one of the others?
Well, the 325a is just a 300i variant, and the hangar download page has a check by the 300i, it just has on X on step 2 - Get a package.
My package is up for grabs.
My package is up for grabs.
um

I think what he is saying is...
My package is up for grabs.
I'll take two!

I don't know what changed, but the download page does say that now.
■Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
■DirectX 11 graphics card with 1GB Video RAM
■Quad core CPU
■8GB Memory
I only have 4GB so we'll see what happens.
Well, I bit the bullet and bought a Colonel LTI package. Now it says I have two packages. Meh. Maybe I can trade in my two packages for an admiral package or something.
Hangar impressions:
Well, I ran around my ship, tried to climb a few ladders (they're buggy so I fell off) opened a hatch on either side of my ship, got into my ship, and sat in the cockpit. As expected, there's nothing really there, but if they keep that level of detail through the whole game it ought to be a lot of fun.
The load on their servers must be something -- I keep getting timeout errors.
Did we succeed in crashing their servers? My download just died and attempts to restart it give me a "Request Failed".

When you were sitting in the cockpit, did you go "Pew! Pew! Pew!"? Because I think that's required or something.

I may or may not have.
I can't get it to load. "Account Login Timed Out".
same, but that city scape on the app launch screen, if that's an actual open world I'll
I got in, and while it chugged a bit, it ran, and it was very cool. Now, sadly, I can't log in, however.
I feel like Luke Skywalker seeing the Millenium Falcon for the first time.
