Far Cry 4 Catch-All

Has anyone had a hard time finding people to co-op with? I am dying to give it a shot and am playing on my PS4. But the server can never find someone.

I'll co-op with you. Today is football but otherwise if you see me on just send me a message

I like the PvE co-op. Not too interested in the pvp stuff. I hate playing as the ranger group. That summon animals power and forced to use just the bow is the dumb

Yeah, I am mostly interested in the PvE stuff. And I won't lie, I partly want to get the trophy for playing as Hurk. I will add you. Feel free to do the same.

Also, I am playing through the campaign on Hard difficulty. I was fairing okay outside of some from frustration, but the second half when the map unlocks is ridiculously difficult. You practically need a headshot to get a kill.

Edit: Thankfully if you get one one of the very final upgrades on the Elephant side you get a "double damage" perk that is constant. You can cut throw guys like butter, especially with the Special auto-rifle The Warrior.

If you can stomach the grind (Arena rank 10), unlocking the Bushman is the way to go. High damage, ROF, ACOG, and silenced. Good assault rifle that you will find works in about any kit combo you prefer.

The signature .45 cal submachine gun is almost as good, felt slightly more fun and is way easier to get.

Cool, I was just looking at this. I may be able to deal with the grind. I am just so close to the end, but may as well. I am a sucker for a good assault rifle, and the Bushman seems awesome. I just finished the final outpost and now just have to go and grab the last collectables before focusing entirely on the story missions.

I'm Rank 4 on the Arena. Getting to rank 10 just seems like so much effort. I don't know why they made it so damn grindy to get it considering every other weapon doesn't take that much.

If you play the mobile game it's way less grindy

My first Platinum!!!

Just picked it up over the weekend. Feel free to friend me up.

I picked it up this weekend as well. I just finished Act 1, and it looks like the game has opened up.

I liberated my first outpost with the help of a crazy rampaging elephant. I disabled the alarm in all the chaos, so I got the trophy "Tread Lightly." The game has a sense of humor.

I'm pretty much 50% through the game now, the game was a touch frustrating at the start but once it opened up & I got ability upgrades & new weapons unlocked it became fun liberating bases, hiding in foliage & blowing up convoys. The wingsuit & little bicycle chopper make getting around the world almost too handy. The one time I played co-op with Magik it was good fun too, we liberated one of the fortresses.

Good job on the Platinum trophy Cobble! I take it you enjoyed the game a fair amount?

I did, very much. Near the end there I was ready to be done but it wasn't that bad. None of the trophies were crazy hard

ENABLE ME

(please)

--------------
maybe i should add more detail. Played Farcry 1 through twice. Got bored with Farcry 2, and sort of annoyed at the getting sick mechanic, and outposts repopulating and such. Loved Farcry 3, apart from a few cutscenes...okay several cut scenes, but it wasn't like I was *playing* the cut scenes, just walking away to await their denouement, so to speak. Still...

ENABLE ME BABY!

It's Far Cry 3 with a better world, less stupid story, and more refined mechanics.

I'm almost done with the main story and have been enjoying every minute of it. In FC3, once I got to the second island I'd had enough of the game and walked away. I cant put my finger on it, but I'm more engaged with the plight of the land and my simple quest to put my mother to rest.

So... this is 40 bucks on steam right now. I've never played a far cry game before, is it worth the price to dive in? I'm very close to pulling the trigger.

It's fantastic you won't regret buying it.

Heads up for anyone also thinking of getting it. 50% off all platforms on Amazon

I bought Far Cry 3 and 4 and played both very little. Realizing how silly this was, I decided today would be finally "Give Far Cry 3 a Fair Shot Day." I am stunned. This game is freaking awesome! I can only imagine Far Cry 4 is even better! Played 7 solid hours today. Wife will be out of town for 4 days next weekend. Hmm, wonder what I'll be doing?

I like elephants. I do not like that I had to make an ammo bag out of snow leopard skins before I could make an ammo bag out of deer skins, but that is an old complaint that's been beaten to death (you get more skins that way), so... I like elephants.

I also like that Far Cry 4 is giving me some actual difficult decisions to make, because my choices are always terrible. Do I adhere to a set of noble principles that are unrealistic at best and suicidal at worst? Do I commit to lesser evils in order to assist a cause I only follow because I'm given no alternative? Do I even like crab rangoon?

Hey look, another tower to climb.

After some effort 1Dgaf and I managed to get a truck onto a truck.

This as the result of driving it down the road.

Yo dawg, I heard yo like trucks...

Finished up the campaign, Pagan Min should have been in the game waaaay more. Genius villain, superb dialogue & really drew you in watching the cut scenes he was in.

It was all more refined than Far Cry 3 but obviously had nowhere near the impact plus the tropical setting of 3 was sensational. Still this is a fun open world, with great stealth & good shooting mechanics.

Shingra La parts were decent, really beautiful to look at & your companion & bow added a different element than you would have in Kyrat.

The animal eco system was pretty cool but you would get attacked far too frequently compared to 3 (at least in my eyes) & again it was all done before in the previous game.

The ending was really good, but overall the story was standard & not too engaging bar Pagan Min. They really can do bad guys in style (Vaas & Buck were awesome).

I'd like them to really change up the format for the next one, like they done from FC2--->FC3.

Overall though it's a really good game if you've played 3 & even better if you haven't as your coming in fresh to a lot of the systems.

Higgledy,

I wondered what that looked like from your point of view. I quite enjoyed that little experiment.

Incidentally, I've unlocked the northern part of the island. Based on what you said on your mission progress, I think you're quite close now. I think only campaign missions count.

I had an absolutely amazing moment in FC4. I happened to have out a sniper rifle (accidentally) and a jeep of with 3 enemies were barreling towards me. Since I had no other option, I shot at the driver and miraculously hit him in the head as well as killed the gunner directly behind him, earning me the trophy for killing two enemies with one sniper shot. The jeep veered off the road and crashed into a rock exploding into flames killing the passenger as well. I was so shocked I didn't even think to make sure it had been recorded on my PS4. Twas amazing.

I've unlocked the North part also. We'll have to head up there :).

I had an incident where I was trying to take a base from a sniper spot. I'd been spotted and was being mortared. A guy drove at me with a truck as a line of mortars landed in front of me creating a wall of explosions. The truck broke through the flames, scattering vehicle parts and skidded to a halt on it's chassis. The driver tumbled out and land on the grass in front of me. As he died he whispered, "For...King Min."

My appreciation for this game grows with every session I play.

I beat the main story the other night and enjoyed the majority of it. Pagan was very engaging and I liked that he was sort of a rock star. I was kind of shocked at how the game ended, not how the story wrapped up,

Spoiler:

but how Min made his grand exit. Again rock star.

The wildlife was a bit much and almost every time I would save a captive or defend Golden Path members, they would be killed by some wild beast as I drove off. I guess that's just life in Kyrat.
