However i've bought some great stuff off ebay, and good lord, when I was a minor, all the great "adult content" I got.. how can they check ID over the net? mwuahahaha!

I sell on Ebay a fair amount, but usually only stuff that an adult would want.

Wow, did you just insinuate that I sell porn?

Yessss

Actually, I was insinuating that you've sold porn to Ganguro in the past and only through Ebay.

That last part makes this post on-topic, right?

Yes, but his post implied that minors want porn, whereas I stated that I sold things that only an adult would want.

Your argument is flawed and shows a lack of comprehension re: the evidence.

Your honour, I move that this attempt at humour be dismissed!

No, it was funny. And I dig that you sell porn. I concur with Yoyoson when he says "Yessss."

I thought it was Certis that sold porn, and didn't he tell us not to tell that Hoochie person?

That's not porn, those are licensed "GWJ Forum Personality 'Intimate Moments' Collectable Cards." He said he'd got you all to sign the waivers...

It's OK. I don't think Hoochie has been here. Brennil - make sure you don't tell Hoochie, OK?

Our dream of witnessing Fletcher's nutsack depilation will finally come true!

That would explain all of the emailed marriage proposals I am getting from Correctional Institutions...

Yes, ours. Right guys? Guys?

Maybe we can somehow tie in Fletcher's nutsack depilation with eBay and make a profit!

1- Fletcher's nutsack depilation
2- eBay
3- Profit!!!

See, it's in writing so it must work!

It should go
1. Fletcher's nutsack depilation.
2. eBay
4. Profit!!!

Yeah, but now we finally know the missing step!

Fletch, you can truly say you've "made it" when your beanbag is the topic of common discussion on an internet forum. Go and buy you a nice dinner tonight, sweets.

Actually my logic hinges on the idea that *you* think porn is something only adults would want. Ganguro's remark may indeed imply that minors want porn, but that doesn't necessarily mean you agree.

The only piece of information we have regarding your eBay-ed goods is that *you* qualified them as something only adults would want, and without knowing exactly how you perceive the age demographics of porn consumers, we can't rule out the possibility that you're using eBay to hawk your multitudes of sordid and instinctively appealing media goods.

Of course, you could break (or bend?) my argument over your knee by simply telling us that you think and have always thought that minors desire porn.

The missing step is where we use Brennil's eBay account to do the selling, because she is the one with the killer feedback rating in that category...

I would write a devastating rebuttal, but I have several cases of GWJ FP'IM'CC "Fletcher Makes Good" packs to mail out. Some lucky devil out there is going to get the rare and sought after "mid-shave" variant. Gotta collect 'em all!

It's really momments like this that remind me why this is my favorite site on the intraweb.

just wanted to bring this thread back to life since I went looking for an ipod FM receiver on ebay and encountered a whopping $15-19.99 shipping fee from every single goddamn seller. How on earth is that justified for something that weighs less than a pound??

They just hate you.

Or the human race. You know... either/or.

It's only the big price items that you'll get screwed from.I did 126 with no problem and then one day I sold something over 1000.00 bucks and got screwed.I thought I was cover with paypal but they screwed me too.Just remember to ALWAYS have them sign for it when they get it or you will be suck with the bill.

I would concur. I bought Planescape: Torment on ebay from the US for 4$, and a Dreamcast plus a ton of accessories recently. Never had any problems, but those were relatively low priced items. Never sold anything though.

I ship things all day long. The shipping costs might be high because the sellers are almost certainly going to insure your package, plus they'll require all kinds of shipping confirmation, signature-on-delivery, etc. to make sure no one gets screwed. Finally, they might be charging you a little more than they're paying to make sure that even if you send the item back and they have to refund you, they make a couple bucks for their trouble.

I agree that they're probably mostly jerks, though.

The people that charge $10+ shipping for a relatively cheap and light item are doing it to make sure they make money. They sell the item for what it cost them so it looks like they have a lower price than most others, then make their profit in the shipping. USPS Priority Mail up to like 3 pounds with delivery confirmation and insurance up to $500 is a total of about six bucks, less if you print the label online.

What has grown to suck about eBay is your commonly available items are sold mostly by businesses, so it's harder to find a good deal. The good deals are when amongst the 100 business auctions, you find one from joe schmoe who got it as a gift and doesn't want it.
