It's....no Arrow.

I'll check it out some more. I don't mind the occasional CW nonsense.

Yeah, that's better.

I've been running well behind on my oat my TV shows this season.

I just finally caught up with AHS by watching the last two episodes this morning. Great show getting better. The zombies were actually kind of fun, and made sense since I believe the original zombie in movies were inspired by voodoo.

I also caught up with Persona of Interest, and the last couple of episodes were pretty much high points of the series. I might still have one more. The two were Shaw wit the 10-year-old and then the Root centric episode. It's odd that the PoI gets amazingly good ratings, yet it doesn't seem to be on the radar so much here. It has a very comic bookish storytelling scheme, lots of gadgets and tech, and is centered around a variation of a Skynet tale.

Been slowly working my way through The Mentalist, too. I really hope this will wend the Red John storyline, as it is starting to wear thin. But the recent episodes have been a bit of a return to form.

Man, I can't wait to see Almost Human this Sunday. It looks so good.

Absolutely!

Btw, I'm continuing to work through Person of Interest's first season. Just saw episode seven last night. Mind. Blown.

This show is amazing. All TV should be this good.

I'd also like to add that I really like the direction that Haven has been taking this season.

Sweeeeeeet. Can't wait either, although I'll have to wait for Monday with Hulu. The only problem is that my hopes might be set a bit too high after seeing anime do such a great job with the subject.

What anime would you compare this to?

A little bit of Ghost in the Shell although that's not exactly androids. I bring that one up because it has a lot of the cop/cyberpunk themes.

Mizu no Kotoba was fleshed out into a short series called Time of Eve, but the original OVA still has very interesting laws of robotics stuff.

It's very mature and explores lots of themes, so if you're not into anime but are fascinated by the ideas between human/android interaction, Time of Eve is the one to watch. There are 6 episodes at 15 minutes each. The animation quality is much improved from that original OVA, too.

There is one in The Animatrix that are very interesting: The Second Renaissance.

Here is a clip from it:

Edit: Here is a quick summary explaining Time of Eve.

Edit 2: Come to think of it, Battlestar Gallactica also did a very good job with it. I loved the explorations of what it means to be an android or human. I didn't end up liking the show for other reasons by the end, though.

I enjoy anime, but I haven't watched any in a long time. I've seen Animatrix and the original Ghost in the Shell. I'll read that summary of Time of Eve.

My favorite ever was Samurai Champloo, btw.

And once upon a time, my avatar here was Himura Kenshin.

Anyone else watching Boardwalk Empire this season?

I watched the first 4 episodes or so but have fallen behind. It's okay, maybe a little slow. I just have too many other things I'd rather watch right now. I'll probably just watch the whole rest of the season in one shot sometime down the line when I'm in the mood to watch gangster stuff.

South Park continues killing it this season. Last night was a XB1/PS4 console wars + Black Friday sales (including deaths) + Game of Thrones mash up. Freaking awesome. And looks to be continued next Wed.

Great opening of Almost Human. Did we make a separate thread yet? Think we're going to need it.

I'm psyched! Hope my wife wants to watch it tonight.

Yeah, Almost Human rocked its premiere. Can't believe we get a new episode tomorrow!

Didn't know Minka Kelly was in it until tonight. Just watched all of Friday Night Lights earlier this year.

Yeah, and despite such a role playing to her strengths, she isn't playing a robot.

...Ok, that was mean.

But while I'm on the mean train, I caught an ad for Josh Holloway's CBS show, Chuck, but Serious.

Solid guffaw on this end. Nice.

And agreed, Almost Human rocked.

Holy balls, Almost Human is one of the best science fiction shows I've ever seen, and better than most movies. That was awesome.

Excellent. Can't wait to watch it on Hulu+ this week. Be sure to give Time of Eve a shot.

Working on it!

Almost Human was fantastic!! I hope they keep the budget for the rest of the episodes. It looked pretty great and the acting was also great. Karl Urban really should be Batman. He had a total Batman moment during the interrogation.

Between this and Sleepy Hollow, Fox is knocking it out of the park.

SHIELD continues to suck. Decided to watch the latest episode after giving up after ep 2 but it's kind of unbearable.

Almost Human had this wonderfully amazing attention to detail that I hope they can continue. Also, I hope that the effects budget doesn't sink the show. Sweet Jebus, they did a good job with some of those visuals.

Yep. I figured there would be some Agents of SHIELD grumblings after last night. Where the hell was all that Marvel/Disney money? Certainly not spent on CGI. But this looked very impressive. Hope it wasn't just for the pilot.

Nice, it's up on Hulu. Can't wait to watch that tonight.

I forgot to set up the DVR for this. Hurray PrimeTime Anytime!

This thing just took a dump on SHIELD's head. Not that SHIELD put up much of a fight.

Between Almost Human and my new favorite Person of Interest, there is some amazing, high production value TV out there right now.

Almost Human nailed it again. Wow.
