iPad Games (and Apps) Catch All

Dicenomicon. I can write what I want for any game, No matter the system.

That looks good, Athros. I can program something for my D-Day Dice. Thanks!

Try Dragons and Dice, is the one I use when playing Pathfinder.

This is not a video game, but it's pretty awesome.

Four different recordings of the work that you can play with a live score plus various other bits of content.

Thanks, Andon, and everyone who replied.

That app is highly recommended. It was mentioned on the Idle Thumbs podcast a while back.

I spent many many hours engrossed in that before Christmas. Can't recommend it enough.

I may have broken Ascension.

What did you do?!

WHAT DID YOU DO?!

15 million honor. Nice work!

Nah, it's only 1600 (230 in the deck, 1360 in pure points).

That being said...

WHAT DID YOU DO??

Construct that gives you another turn when discarded +
2x constructs that let you pull a mecha construct out of the void +
construct that turns all constructs into mecha +
mecha construct that allows you to put a newly purchased construct into your hand

I'd start every turn by getting another turn. Then I would discard one of my two constructs that would let me take it back from out of the void, then I would play it again so it was ready to go for the next round. Then I would finish my turn.

Since my deck was mostly cards that had "do X and draw a card" I could cycle my deck quickly and the reclaimers or whatever they were came back very quickly.

If I was careful and stopped picking up non-draw cards (after a half hour I just wanted the game to end), I think I could have played almost into perpetuity since I could cycle my own deck so quickly. Many hands I ended up playing my entire deck. Unfortunately, this became rarer and rarer as I picked up non-draw cards.

Also playing green cards was a big part of my score as well. 2x the life card that gives you +1 honor for ever life card you play and I used the card that mimics another hero on them every time, so every green card I played was 3 honor.

This would have been a lot more informative if I knew what anything was called.

That's very impressive.

Did you use your phone to take a picture of your ipad? You know you can just click the off and home buttons simultaneously to take a screenshot, right?

Well done, though, congratulations!

I was trying to form an iSingularity by doing that and doom us all (seeing as I've already achieved the maximum of human potential) but all I got was a cruddy picture.

See how the world is your oyster now that Pencon is off of your shoulders?

Yes... yes. Everything is coming up Brian.

I introduced a friend last week to the physical version of Ascension then showed him the iPad version. He hasn't been seen since. It's the only game that lives in the Dock of my iPad.

I think that's when you use the front-facing cameras of each device to take pictures of one another, leading to an endless progression of iThings.

Warning: do not google the phrase "endless progression of iThings."

Looks fine to me. Philosophy/critical theory and theology.

Thanks, filter bubble!

So confused - I've only played the physical version, but the game is over when you run out of honor tokens on the board (which is, what, 60 for a 2-player game) - so how did that work?

In the iOS version once all honor tokens are gone the game continues while the current player completes their turn. It's been a while since I played but I then believe any players who have not yet had their turn that round also take their turn. So the game ends when at all the tokens are used and all players have completed the same number of turns.

By the way, Glyph Quest is a good, relatively small match 2/3/4 game made by Alex Trowers, formerly of Bullfrog. I'm enjoying it for those brief diversions needed during the day.

The physical version technically works the same way. They even include 10-15 honor tokens above the limit so everyone can finish out their turns. It's just that they don't include enough physical bits to cover the singularity that oilypenguin fell into...

Drive on Moscow is on sale for 4.99, it's now universal.

The last nonchalant post about a match-X game saw me playing scurvy scallawags until 2am in the morning, dammit (off to download it now)...

Spoiler:

Seriously, though, thanks for the link!

Well then I think I've been playing the physical version slightly wrong then! Once we're out of honor tokens, we simply don't get any more honor for that last turn. I shall inform my wife of our error

Assuming that the iVersion is playing by the correct rules, you keep handing out honor until everyone has played their last turn. That includes getting more turns from chucking out that construct over and over.
