As for Topple, I think the animation is good and it's a fun idea, but the interface is either terrible or I have the coordination of a Pseudopod. Try as I might, I simply can't rotate the blocks without using two hands--the interface simply doesn't register that my second finger is even on the screen. Perhaps I have poor circulation or something, but this makes it a no-go for me. Installed and removed the next day.
It's not just you, I have had the same problem with Topple.
Pangea software has some awesome sales going on right now!! Have a look at the appstore! (not sure how to insert direct iTunes store link)
Anyone still enjoying 7 Cities?
http://appshopper.com/games/7-cities-td
I ask because it's currently on special, $2.99. Thinking of purchasing :).
I liked 7 Cities, its definitely worth $3. On medium, some of the maps can be very challenging, which bumps up the value, in my opinion.
Thanks for the feedback. I pulled the trigger :).
Now just to get myself away from galcon multi..
Does anyone know when "The Oregon Trail" is coming out?
7 Cities is quite nice yes.
Now playing lots of Poker Quest, iMob Online, 7 Cities and Orions.
Who else is into Orions? It's like "Magic the Gathering" CCG.
Would buy MTG game if they ever decide to develop it for the iPhone.
iMob Online is alright. I need more buddies in there!
So here is my friend code : 107029355
I have Orions. its pretty cool but I don't play it too much. I dont think the overland map part of the game is very well designed, but I love the battle part.
Fieldrunners has a new update coming out in the next few days with 1 new map, 2 new towers, and 1 new enemy. Free content updates are always cool

Same sentiment here concerning this map. Odd way of traveling and managing resources. I'd rather have a ladder system and then earn cards by defeating opponents.

Looking forward to that. I got 3 games now, based on the same principle. Tap Tap Revenge, don't play it that often really.
Fieldrunners, like it! And 7 Cities, best out of 3 in my book.
7 Cities has been pretty cool so far. But those boss waves cause me a lot of problems!
Luckily those boss waves only cost you 1 life I had one map where my life at the end was exactly the same as the beginning, minus the number of boss waves. They all got me, but no regular creeps did.
I seriously need some more ppl into iMob. Friend me up! #107029355
Improving on 7 Cities, managed to get 800k on the 2nd map!
Btw,

Virtual Villagers - A New Home, price dropped from $5 to $2. It looks kind of interesting to me. Has anyone played it?
I got Light Bike for $1 last night. It's EASILY worth that much, it's exactly like the TRON light cycles matches. The controls are perfect, no accelerometer use, just taps for left, right and boost. Very simple, very good. Wifi support is included but not yet actual over-the-internet long distance gameplay. It is planned.
I do believe the $1 is an introductory price and it will go up to 2 or 3 within the next day or two.
Edit: I should mention that there is a LITE mode, and also that the LITE mode is probably set to Easy. There is Medium and Hard in the full version. Also you can play 2 players locally, which I did today with my sister, and that was pretty fun/funny
Anyone tried Katamari on the iPhone?
I've bought Crayon Physics - easily worth $5, and FF Crystal Defenders - too soon to see if it's worth the $8.
I'd KILL for a Tactics game.
I've spent most of my iPhone gaming time with SolFree from Solubon Software (25 hours, 39 minutes by the game counter).
Other things I've put a lot of time into and enjoyed: Live Poker, X-Plane (various flavors), Crayon Physics, 2-Across.
Im not a big fan of games that use titling the phone for control. Its just too rough. So I haven't tried Katamari. I heard it got a patch to improve its performance, which it sounds like it needed.
Has anyone tried the Monopoly game or any of the Pinball games?
I have Pinball Inferno and I think its trying to do much, or just isnt very optimized. The performance is OK but it should be smoother for a quick reaction type game. I think the table layout on it sucks too. Its too hard to get a shot to go up any of the ramps so the game doesn't really flow in any way.
Textropolis is a lot of fun for $3 for anyone who enjoys word games at all. It's simple, yet engrossing.
I likey.
I sold my N810 and got just about enough (minus taxes) to pick up an 8GB iPod Touch, so thats what I did. I think it makes a perfect little "always with you" device and i'm enjoying the games for it so far.
SimCity is awesome, and way, way better than the DS games that have come so far. The touch controls can be a bit picky, but I got used to place roads and buildings in no time. Rolando is fun, and the added variety alone makes it more enjoyable than LocoRoco. Fieldrunners is a pretty competent TD game, but I really wish for a more variety and a "send next wave" button to speed things up. Finding JellyCar on the App Store was a nice surprise, it was fun when it was available on Community Games for the 360 and it's exactly the same running on the iPod; the games price of Free can't be beat either.
I really wish there were some improvements in the way the App Store handled things, some way to have good games float to the top (maybe if people stopped rating everything 3 stars) and having trial games integrated with the full games would be a great way to trim the fat a bit.
Pikced up "iShoot" the other day. If you ever played Scorched Earth back in the day, well, that's what iShoot is. There's a free version I believe, but it doesn't have nearly the number of weapons as the paid version. At any rate, very fun old school game.
I picked up iDracula. It is very much like Crimsonland. You basically have an analog controller for left and right thumbs. You move using the controller and shoot with the other while facing an unending number of enemies. Graphics are pretty good and the game is 99 cents. I found it to be a fun diversionary game that's cheap.
I picked up Edge after good word of mouth, but the controls seem practically impossible for me. The touch controls seem to move the cube in every direction except the one I actually want to move in and the motion controls require so much tilt that the screen starts to become obscured.
I also downloaded GeoDefense, a TD game with a Geometry Wars visual twist. It looks great. It's far from easy, but it's pretty fun. Theres a couple annoying quirks that could be fixed, but for a dollar, it's fun.
I picked up iDracula over the weekend. It was 99 cents and for that it's worth it. You have two circular pads. One for movement and one for shooting. Enemies swarm the screen and you kill them. You get power ups and weapons. The graphics are pretty good as well. For a dollar I recommend it. Quick mindless and fun.
I just grabbed Theseus, a simple but fun 2d puzzle game. You're the blue dot (Theseus) trying to run from the red dot (The Minotaur). There's logic to the way the minotaur moves so even though it's twice as fast as you are, you can outsmart it and solve every level in a turn based fashion.
I've been playing Pocket Hero, which is a simple roguelike. It has a really programmed-by-one-dude-in-his-bedroom feel, which is kinda cool, actually. It's got a really short start up time, which is a real plus, too many of the games I've tried take too long to get going. The game I play most out and about is Tetris on my phone, because I can go from main menu to actually playing in seconds.
I thought about getting Pocket Hero but I'd rather play NetHack if I'm going to play a roguelike and there's not one of those on iPhone yet.
Edit: Also there's a free Rogue port simply called Rogue. It looks like Rogue Touch is more user-friendly with nicer graphics, so those things could definitely be worth paying for.
Edit2: I was thinking of Rogue Touch when you wrote Pocket Hero. I dont know anything about Pocket Hero
Yeah, I've been playing Rogue a bit too. Haven't tried Rogue Touch. Incidentally, I wish someone would remake Azure Dreams for the PSP/DS/iPhone. It's my favourite Roguelike, and I don't think it got much love the first time around on the PS1.
Looking forward to Oregon Trail, which is supposed to be released on the 28th.
Yeah iDracula is cool, already got my $1 value out of that. GeoDefense, ditto. The difference in play style to other TD games makes it interesting.
Btw, can anyone recommend the best file storage / file viewing application? There seem to be a lot but only a few have trials.
