And then they make it so it’s impossible to buy a ticket any other way, but still charge for the “convenience”. Pretty sure my town pulls that BS for all the various town fees they impose.

Yep, my dad is one. He's nearly 70 and has pretty much always played more PC games than I do. Never multiplayer.
Discussions like this amuse me. A preference for single-player games is usually framed as an old person thing, but in the millennia-long history of games, single-player games are an extremely recent aberration.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go log into a MMO to do some private instanced content.
