Ok, let me be perfectly blunt about this... I thought for a moment that the guy in the background was eating that woman's hair.
As an official old guy when I watched that show, I still had a fantastic time with it. Don't let the 'for kids!' appearance put you off, it's written to an extremely high standard. It's three seasons long, and they absolutely nailed the ending, as this quote attests to.
IMO, it's probably the best overall animated show since Batman: The Animated Series from the early 90s. Those two are about equal in my mind.
To all reports, however, the movie is dismal, a total swing and a miss. I haven't seen it myself, but I don't think I've ever seen it talked about in positive terms.

I'm pretty sure Certis once mentioned it was good Rifftrax fodder... that's kind of positive, from a certain point of view.
Netflix has apparently gotten the original animated series' show runners to produce a live action version. It should be interesting to see how that shakes out.
It's the sulking Spider-Man that really nails it.
