I dearly love this post. Thank you for being in touch with reality, random celebrity.

Not to get too P&C, but a certain news channel said pretty much that.

That's Bo Burnham, btw. He's got two great comedy specials on Netflix; "What" and "Make Happy". Comedy ranging from completely childish to existential crisis, with a healthy dash of meta humor throughout.

And I respect the amount of effort he puts in his shows. It requires practice, not just honing a routine.

I like him, but I can't take a lot of him at a time. He reminds of Tim Minchin, with less psychosis and more depression.

The analogy or to buy powerball tickets?

To buy powerball tickets. They said buying as many tickets as you could afford (i.e. - liquidating your assets) was a way to increase your chances of winning. Right, but so wrong...

Proven to work though.

Proven to work though.

Unless you run out of time and can't buy all the combinations...

It worked for Voltaire.

Unfortunately, lotteries since then have gotten somewhat more mathematically sophisticated.

YMMV, I think that's more adorable than "fail"...

That's a wedding win.

I'm going to be that guy:
Yay for the tired cliché of Nerds vs Jocks?

That, and I believe it is possible to be a nerd and be sick of hearing about particular nerdy things.

"Let me tell you what hearing about Game of Thrones is like for the past few years."

"Let me tell you what hearing about Pokémon Go is like for the last few weeks." --Hobbes2099 in the next few weeks.
