Tennessee Game Days 2014: More Done than a Discount Pork Chop

So apparently this is a thing. I just found out about it. More for video games than board games (Candy Land? Really?), but at least they seem amenable to the idea. Trichy et al, if we're ever looking for a more bar-type place to crash for games, this might fit the bill. Beer's a tad pricey, but what can ya do?

No idea about the food, but it's run by the Tin Roof group, which last year's attendees will probably remember fondly. Demonbreun (where Two Bits is located) is also home to the original Tin Roof — I think they own half the strip at this point. Anyway, if anyone wants to venture out that way, it's also right down the street from the Totes Undeniably Best Pizza In Town, FULL STOP, so they're all right in the area.

So maybe we don't have to interrupt our games to stuff our gullets.

Maybe you and I can do a scouting run soon. Play some games and determine if they are worthy of our meeples and dollars.

Sounds intriguing, with an above average bar menu. Speaking of two bits, isn't this right next to the place with 3 ugly women?

I hope I didn't blow a cover story.

Give me a heads up if you all decide to do some scouting! I wouldn't mind checking this place out beforehand too.

For those who will be our guests at the centipede-and-teenager infested hostel 4-star luxury hotel that is Casa Del Trichy, here are some things to consider:

- We will have two beds, a sofa and a surprisingly comfortable loveseat available for your slumbering pleasure, as well as substantial floor space. In addition, we are going to try to borrow an air mattress or three. If you are driving, and have one you can bring, it would be appreciated. CptDomano's insistence on going without pants means that he's sharing the crate with the dog, so that frees up some space there.

- Transportation will be provided, between Jen and my car. However, we may find ourselves occasionally short on seats (because apparently buying a tour bus previously owned by some Deadheads with a penchant for home botany and vertical trampolines wasn't a "practical purchase", pfft), so if people who drive would be willing to share the limo duties, that would be great.

- We have a dog and two cats. We also have an improbably obese guinea pig, but unless we need to duct-tape a Move controller to his furry haunches to fill out our JS Joust roster, that shouldn't be a factor. If you have allergies, that may be something to consider.

- Fresh coffee in the morning and beer for the evening will be provided. Jen has also stated her intent to cook dinner at least one night for our guests. She didn't specifically say that the main course would be the flayed and broasted carcass of the holder of last place in JS Joust, but I'm assuming.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hey, I ain't the only one, pal. NO PANTS TNGD!

Oh, I'll be bringing beer.
Delicious austin beers.

Double the beer!

I've got about 3 air mattresses I can loan to the cause if you're interested Trichy. Since you're being so cool about the no pants thing.

Dibs on upstairs guest room so I can lock myself away from cats sleeping on me (mild allergies).

I deny your dibs and challenge you to a joust for the room!

THUNDERDOME!

You dare to challenge me?
There will be a RECKONING! (Also dibs on cuddle/floor in room with carrot. I also have mild cat allergies)

There's definitely room on the floor for you (small couch you wouldn't fit on in that room).

This worked perfectly with the icon.

Actually, it'll be a different room, and it's huge. Plenty of room for air mattresses. And the cats are verboten in that room on pain of stern expressions, so you should be okay.

That would be amazing, actually.

...But then how will we fight to the death for the room if there's plenty of room?

Worst. TNGD. Ever.

Okay, okay, fight to the death as to who gets the comfy real mattress and who gets the air mattress.

Yessssss

Fight to the death happens on the air mattresses for the unpredictable bouncy effect.

Air Mattress stage.

Can this be a tag team event?
I would also settle for ladder match.

I'm torn. Half of me wants to carefully lay down some ground rules to make sure we have a safe, fun weekend of board gaming. The other half wants to install ropes and a few folding chairs in our living room, and sell the tapes of Boogle coming off the top rope to drop Obirano for a tidy profit.

Jumping from the upstairs over the stairway into the living room would be pretty epic...

Would it be as epic as a jump from the top of a cage?

As long as we get some residuals.

Ladder match outside? First to climb the ladder to the roof and get the board game wins.

I come back to 21 new posts, and it's about air mattress wars? Lame.

Boogle started it.
