Moneyball was a good movie. Very enjoyable.
Pred,
Exported new file with players in draft list. What is odd to me is that there are more players to choose from in "search all players" but can't find way to put on draft list. ??
Hope you found an apartment. Not always an ez task.
Really enjoyed Moneyball.
Thanks
Mitchson - Seattle Rain
I go apartment hunting for a day and look what happens.
So the majority is learning towards sending in their picks and having me sim it then? I'll check and make sure the drafting rankings are right for everyone, but i'm happy to postpone the sim 24 hours just so we're all on the same page.
Sounds good... especially since I was at a rock show last night and forgot to update my league file!
So I put players on the draft list and did a second ftp upload (my first one I had not done the draft list). I'm learning!
Wait, WTF? My team spends 128 million on scouting?
Oh, seems all top countries were checked from the outset. Fixing that.
I need to rob a bank or have a real heart to heart with ownership:)
Thanks Pred!
Round 1, Pick 11 - Baltimore Bridgeburners: CF David Harris
Told ya my scout knew what the hell he was doing. We need help in the outfield (or a starting pitcher, but everyone always needs more of those) and we got some help out there.
6/19 - The 3rd best performance of the day belongs to Charlotte's Jorge Vargo, who managed 4 RBIs, despite only getting one hit (and it wasn't a grand slam).
What the ... ? Will have to check this out.
Prognosis is in on Brooklyn outfielder Leo Davis, he of the .351 average, 11 home runs, and 48 RBIs. Broken ankle, 6 weeks! Somone rip those f*cking sprinklers out from the outfield grass! I can't keep going like this!
Gawd. I have caught a big fish, but alas I feel my net is not wide enough to reel him in. But we shall see...
Sorry I've been incommunicado lately. Work has been driving me nuts. /excuse
The Pierogies are sticking around a tad below .500. Looking forward to the big series against division rival the Brooklyn Sandwiches and trying to gain some ground.
I'll be the first to admit, I suck at managing my team's finances. I think I have some money to spare but I'm not exactly sure where/who to spend it on. Most of my current players are in a multi-year contracts (the ones that are worth it) so should I look for big name players to trade for if I do indeed 'have money to burn?'
Also, can someone give me run down how I'm suppose to develop my minor league players? Short of controlling my developmental budget, which you can only change in the offseason, is there anything else I can do?
Finally, I know everyone is looking for OF help, I have no answers there, but if anyone is in the market to off-load a quality IF (anywhere except 3B) I'm here to listen.

All I do is manage their rosters a bit, nothing too serious. The Minor League report gives you an idea of when players are ready to be moved around.
With as many levels to the minors as we have I just let the AI deal with things. I keep an eye on it and move people I want to, but otherwise I let the AI do things.
Oh, shortlist prospects you like. That way you'll get updates on them.
Hey Pred, did you get my PM?
When's the next sim? I got a little thrown and forgot to update my files for the usual Monday flip, yet I have to do some shuffling to account for Leo Davis's DL time.

Next sim should be the regularly scheduled Friday run I would think.

I did. I'm a smidge busy, so if you've dropped me a line recently, excuse me, i'll try and get back to you tonight.
No worries, I understand busy.
'smidge'? I think your busy as heck all the time:)
Two week sim sounds good to me. Just have to have all positions properly backed up in case of injury (which I admit I'm guilty of always not filling in).
Round 1, Pick 1 - San Diego Surfers: SP Rubén Rojas
Round 1, Pick 2 - Dallas Dirigibles: SP Sergio Salas
Some fine pitching duels in our division's future if we can both sign them.

After looking even more closely at Rojas, I really can't understand(!) how he was rated so high in the draft.

Drafted for potential? I was just checking out team finances and San Diego is paying $44m for scouting costs? What happened there? Almost every other team is in the $4-6m range.
Newest Update (#5) is out. We should wait for Pred's word to update I suppose.

Maybe. Some GM's may not get to the Update by tonight's upload. But as you say, we'll see what comment's Pred makes.
If everyone can do the update today, that'd be grand. If you'd like to re-upload your team, feel free, it's no harm or hindrance.
Done and ftp'ing.
I'm updated and re-uploaded. Looking forward to the sim results.
