I don't know what's worse. That, or having a high 500's record and being stuck in 4th place in my playoff race group.

Welcome to the club! WOOOO! *high five*

I'm away from my computer for at least a couple of days getting a baby pulled out of the wife. Last time it took a week, which is why I mention it. Please don't let anything too dumb happen to San Diego! Hopefully Farscry didn't Gillooly Brian Burke tonight while I wasn't looking.

Congrats on the baby!

Also, new file!

Vancouver's slide into irrelevance continues. 13 games out, we're gonna be in the wilderness for a bit.

But if you're 13 games out...that means...

....oh no. I don't want to download this new file.

Wow, Seattle is running away and hiding.

And I'm now officially the worst team in the league. I didn't expect to contend for a title, but I sure didn't expect to get worse.

Also I just noticed they waived their $21M/yr right fielder, in favor of a better, cheaper, younger stud.
Damn.

Congrats on the new addition!!!! No Gilhooling allowed (league rule) while tending to delivery. Wish you and wife well.

You know, I may have asked this question already, but how much of an effect does the front office staff have on the performance of the team overall? This goes for all levels of the organization, from Rookie League up to the NABL?

EDIT: Second Question--Do waiver claims work the same as trading? Meaning will Prederick be the one who makes that decision, or do I just try to claim the guy in-game?

Not home yet, but everything seems okay with the kid so perhaps tomorrow. Yay!

Cpt, not 100% certain but I think the team with the worst record gets the waived player if they claim him. No idea on the front office question, but I doubt there's an effect as I think we are the front office. Maybe the amount you spend on player development would have some effect.

Claim waivers players in-game. Then cross your fingers.

All right, that's what I figured. I've tried on a couple guys between the two seasons I've played and I've got the "cannot be claimed" response, so I was just wondering if I was doing it right. Thanks for the help!

Sorry didn't say this earlier, congrats on the new baby.

Indeed, congrats on everything (I assume?) going well with the new baby!

Yes, Mazel Tov! I've placed a "Congratulations" gift in your team's account.

....

KIDDING, kidding.

New file! Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit's draft time! Thank god Portland and San Fran are awful, we needed a 5-1 week.

I'll forget you said that

Ouch, man! Talk about kicking a coach while they're down!

Thanks guys, yes things are going well. Especially when you factor in the $25M Pred put into the team's bank account. I haven't actually looked at file yet, but it's a safe assumption.

Wow $25M!!!
Pred, I forgot to mention my wife is having twins next week ($50M). :>))

OHMYGOD I forgot Portland was player-owned.

Yes, this is the league's new financial rule. $25M for every child up to 4, at which point you earn $50M a child. A model I think the MLB should aspire to.

Does this apply to already existing children, or just newborns? Because I would have waited to have mine if I'd known the monetary bonus was only for newborns . . .

No worries, man! Still being a newbie at this whole thing, I realize I'll be riding the low end of the standings for awhile.

Sweet! I'll be looking forward to my $25M in a couple months

Is there an "unwillingly alone" consolation stipend? 'Cause I'd lay in a claim for that money.

Edit: That's right, bitches, "Killjoy" is my middle name!

Farscry, if it makes you feel better, my two year old loves your avatar. I don't know how he knows what a pirate is, but he gets excited everytime he sees pirate cat. Maybe use that for a profile pic on a dating site?

New file! How was your draft?

It's January in Denver apparently, even if the calendar says June. Sigh.

Also, why do people taken 221st in the draft want $3MM? Idiots!

Yesterday was one of those times that my export didn't take, even though I did it at least three times. Oh well.

Oh, and the 612th pick wants $2M from me so I'll probably pass on that. An ERA of 10 in 19 high school games is a bad sign.

I noticed my export didn't take either.

My draft was pretty pathetic. I'm probably only going to try to sign the first 3 picks.
