GWJ OOTP League Thread

Yeah, also misread your post. I'm still in.

Great!

allright, in that case, we're through the first week of Spring TRaining! New file!

Hoo-boy, this year is do or die. Well, it will be die in any case, it would just be nicer to eat my salaries with a championship trophy on the mantel.

GAT-DANGIT.

ARGH. I'm sorry, the last month or two has just been NUTS on my end of things, and I've let my responsibility slip WAY too much. I'm really sorry guys, I'm the commissioner here, and I'm responsible for keeping this league up and running.

There'll be a new file later tonight, I promise.

There. I said new file, and dammit, I meant it.

New file!

New file! THE SEASON APPROACHES.

ALERT: OOTP 16 is, like, $9.99 RIGHT NOW on STEAM.

$10! There are beers more expensive than that! Go get it!

Also, new file!

Sweet, I won Spring Training.

New file!

The new season is nearly upon us!

Bonjour! No new file, I wanted to give everyone time to catch up and get their 25-man rosters set for the regular season! No previews this time, as life has gotten a little too hectic, but I'll come up with something.

Anyway, I'm giving everyone until midnight tonight to cut their rosters down to 25 men, or I'll have the AI do it for you!

New file! The season begins!

And we're off! New file!

If you were curious, the predicted division winners are:

Boston (86 wins), Buffalo (103 wins), Richmond (83 wins), San Diego (96 wins).

Expect another comically absurd season from Boston SP Francis Riley, and for San Diego to mash their way into the postseason again.

New flipping file!

New file ya'll!

New file! (A day late).

Since Turkey Day is Thursday, we'll still sim on the normal Sun-Mon-Wed-Fri schedule this week.

New file!

New filealicious!

2-8 in the last 10 games with a 6-game losing streak. This is the sound of the wheels coming off the bus.

And another one! New file!

We're over 40 games in now, and the standings are looking a bit interesting.

There's no surprise to see Boston atop the NL East yet again, but the injury bug has finally bitten Francis Riley. The evergreen star is out for the next three months with shoulder inflammation, so it's up to the rest of the rotation to hold things together through the summer.

Vancouver leads the NL West, as German Estrada has shocked everyone by slotting right into their rotation. He's got the NABL's best ERA as of now, although his FIP indicates that it can't last for much longer.

Atlanta and Memphis are tied atop the SL East, with Charlotte just a 1/2 game behind. It's saying something, considering Miami is 14-30 and only 10 games out of 1st place. but Memphis' Steve Davis is on pace for a 50-HR season, so there's that at least.

Houston sits atop the SL West, even though San Diego is doing its usual bit of smacking the cover off the ball. As usual, it looks like the race this year will be between a team with great pitching (Houston has 2 of hte 3 best ERAs in the SL) and a team with great hitting (Brian Burke is back at .400, and Jesus Garcia might get to 150 RBIs).

New flip dibbity file!

New file! First-year draft's upon us! Make sure yours is set!

New file! First year draft!

Newest Humble Bundle includes OOTP 16 - might be a good opportunity to pick it up:

New file! By the way!

And yes, if you pleae, grab OOTP 16. I'd like us to be able to upgrade in time for the new (real) season.

You have my glove! I'm looking to come out of retirement for the next season, and this is a good of a time as any to pick it up.

PORTLAND WILL BE MEDIOCRE ONCE AGAIN!

Won't OOTP17 be out when the new (real) season starts?

Just saying that they usually release the next version to coincide with the start of baseball season.

If our league wants to upgrade to OOTP16, then we can just do it whenever at this point. If we are waiting for the start of the next real baseball season, maybe we should upgrade to the latest version?

I'm fine either way.

well the difference is it will cost $40 to get OOTP 17 when it comes out in April versus $10 for OOTP 16 now. Also it is usually best to wait a month or so after release until they have gotten all the patches out.

With that said I'm on the fence about getting OOTP 16. My other 2 leagues are both running OOTP 15 and are waiting until 17 is released before upgrading. On one hand it's just $10, on the other hand it seems silly to pay for 16 if I'm going to have to get 17 in a few months.

New file!

This is a good question to be pitching now. 17 will be new, but 16 will be cheap by then. I can go either way, frankly.
