The Keys To Happiness - a Steam & Origin (and Desura!) key giveaway and trading thread

I've still got that promo code for MGSV. If anyone is interested in trading, let me know. As before: Witcher 3 or Divinity: Original Sin would be ideal, but I'm open to other options.

DT: Did you end up with a copy then? Given your reputation, I'm actually interested in what you'll have to say about the title.

The Missus gave me a copy for our tenth anniversary. Traditionally, 10 years is tin, and given Kojima's tin ear I think that fits.

I'm two hours in, but since I've only actually been able to play an actual game for 45 minutes of that I need to play more before I write a 1-hour-in review.

Congratulations on 10 years!

And yes, I'm interested in your upcoming review as well, even though one hour of gameplay will get you most of the way through the plot.

Skyborn is currently free here if someone is interested in that

Full disclosure: I love requests and will almost always act on them if I can.

I have a couple of reviews queued up already, and I want to spend some time playing the game instead of watching cutscenes (like my Daikatana review) so my MGSV review will take a week or two to drop.

By that point the game will cease to be relevant, which is cool because it will keep my streak alive.

Thanks to Prozac for Euro Truck Simulator 2

Will calling it Middle East Stealthing Simulator 2015 speed the process up?

No, but calling it Snake Nukem Forever might.

Just doing a quick (first and last) repost. 23 games gone, but still quite a few left. Some of them are really good.

Thanks to Hyetal for Cloudbuilt, Tower of Guns, and Nightsky! Still some good stuff in there so go get it folks!

Thanks Hyetal for Garry's Mod!

Now, I'm not sure if this has been redeemed or not. Someone, go ahead and try - it's the Humble EA Origin Bundle. Dragon Age games, Dead Space 2, Medal of Honors, Command and Conquer...

Please let me know if you grab it (and if it even works)

G0N3 (it worked, yay!)

If you are one of the five people on steam who do not have Portal 2, I have a gift copy sitting in my inventory due to pre-ordering the steam controller. It says not tradeable, but I'd be willing to do a gentleman's arrangement.
Or just give it away to whoever the hell wants it.

I have Brothers if anyone still wants it.

As always, Hyetal is super generous. Thanks, Viking Santa!

Alas, I was not quick enough to complete my modern Might & Magic collection. Fortunately Steam likes to drop it down to something like $5 during big sales, according to the Enhanced Steam plug-in.

I got the code! Thank you very much Zoso1701;)

Cool, it worked! Enjoy!

I didn't care for this game. Does that make me a bad person?

Not bad, just without feeling
jk if it wasn't obvious

I had serious issues with it as well, but that's neither here nor there. Given the overwhelming opinion in the community, and the innovative control scheme, i will agree that it should be tried, but it's also a game that made me downright angry by the time i finished it. YMMV

Yeah I loved the art, environment, story, and ideas in Brothers, but the gameplay was simplistic and just not that fun.

I will give it a try though

Thanks to jamos5 for Brothers =)

I beat the game, but I had already guessed pretty close to what the ending was going to be like, so I wasn't as moved by the story as I have by other games with a similar theme.

I guess that I may have oversold it to myself hearing all the accolades, so much so that this game was the reason that I bought a 360 controller for my pc.

Not a bad game by any stretch, I just wasn't moved by it as much as others have been. YMMV.

Brothers wasn't a great game from a gameplay perspective. The control scheme was interesting. I think it was more about the journey / story, traveling across a beautiful landscape and taking in the experience. From a challenge perspective it was pretty easy.

I liked Brothers' gameplay, I thought it was interesting, and the art was pretty. I saw the ending coming a mile away though, and don't get me started on the portrayal of women characters.
Still worth playing though.

By "ending" did you also mean...

Spoiler:

...the control scheme where you had to use the brother's controls who had died?

THAT'S what made the game so special. Not the story - which it seems a lot of people think makes the game so great.
