Nintendo News and Nintendo Direct Catch-All

Detective Pikachu exclusively sold on Switch carts, $35 each.

I would love to be able to get a colored set of joy cons. Preferably not neon.

I'm fine with grey, but they would 100% sucker me with SNES or Super Famicom colored ones.

I want these announced during E3 and on sale that week. And I want a light-blue Pro. Right now my Mario Kart 8D setup is one Pro and two Joycon, and that cannot stand.

CLOCK IS A PROPHET! :O

*yawn*

Edit: This voice over guy is terrible.

Edit: edit: They're re-releasing Sun and Moon for the 3DS.

Either I'm missing something, or "backpacking through Asia" has changed a LOT. No way in hell would you have that many people carrying hi-value Tech around like that...

Mind you, I am going back a few years to "when I was a lad".

That Switch has a hell of a charge on it also. Did they update the battery?

Just caught this.

I guess I shouldn't hold my breath for a future Advance Wars.

"Personally, I'd love to do Advance Wars, but since it's harder to create relationships between its characters compared to Fire Emblem, I don't have a clear idea of what kind of setting it could have," Yamagami told Eurogamer.

**Edit since I was on the wrong board**

To stay on topic I noticed people on gamefaqs complaining that the e3 direct is supposed to be 30min long. Is that confirmed? Seems short if they are doing it like other years but maybe it will just be a bunch of trailers for games.

Anyone know of any good video guides on playing characters and rolls. I really need some tips on Rein he seems great for pushing the objective but as for defending myself or punishing people who get get within my range I can't hit with any of his abilities. If someone gets around my shield I'm basically dead even the slowest characters manage to juke me.

Loving the game on PS4 I'm more addicted now then I was at launch.

Overwatch thread is this way: https://www.gamerswithjobs.com/node/...

lol oops thought I was in that thread thanks!

Well, I don't know Overwatch, but I think I've identified the problem.

Spoiler:

;)

Lol yeah maybe I should start paying more attention to the screens I'm looking at!

My guess is that they've condensed the E3 Direct to a brief bundle of trailers and announcements, and then they've shifted all the gameplay demonstrations that usually eat up a lot of time during press events to the days-long Treehouse streams and interviews.

Does anyone remember how long that recent direct was which blasted through a number of 3DS announcements? My hope is they'll do something similar and use Treehouse Live time to go into the deep dives for everything announced.

And the last Direct was 35 minutes but was super fast paced and covered a lot of stuff.

I'll be shocked if it blows through games like the last Direct. Half the titles in the above are already out. I expect it'll focus on upcoming titles and a few new announcements for the Switch.

Still waiting on that Smash Switch announcement.

Do not want any time soon. We're just now finally within a few characters of beating the classic solo mode with all of them on Wii U. How many trophies are in Smash Wii U, anyways?

I await the inevitable complaints about this not being what people wanted when they said Nintendo should support VR.

I have no idea what people would have wanted then because first person perspective platformers are miserable. Mario Kart is about the best thing they could do with Mario in VR.

I've heard, but not personally experienced, that THIRD-person platformers are pretty cool. Playing Mario while watching from a distance in Lakitu's Cloud does hold an appeal to me, personally.

I dunno, Sony had 2 indie VR puzzle platformers in their montage last night.

Which is basically a full bingo in 30 seconds for E3.

Sure but that's all Namco like the other MK Arcade games. Which is why I said "internally".

All right, what do I have to murder to get in a SNES Classic preorder.

Seems about what you'd want. I might have liked to see some more games on there, but FFIII(VI) and Secret of Mana is plenty to carry me. I don't have those carts because they are spendy.

SNES Mini Classic announced for sale in November September 29th for $80. Go ahead and be sad that you can't pre-order one and never even saw one in person.

Games included:

  • Contra III
  • Donkey Kong Country
  • EarthBound
  • Final Fantasy III (US)
  • F-ZERO
  • Kirby Super Star
  • Kirby's Dream Course
  • The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
  • Mega Man X
  • Secret of Mana
  • Star Fox
  • Star Fox 2 (no, this was never released before)
  • Street Fighter II Turbo
  • Super Castlevania IV
  • Super Ghosts n Ghouls
  • Super Mario Kart
  • Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
  • Super Mario World
  • Super Metroid
  • Super Punch-Out!!
  • Yoshi's Island

I'll pass.

Of course, I have a working SNES in my closet, but after the crap that went down with the NES Mini I have little interest in this.

If I could walk into a store and buy one I would 100% buy one. But given what happened last time? Pass.
