Back when Rocksmith 1 came out we did a "weekly challenge" sort of setup where a group of us played the same song for a week and posted our progress. The problem was that it sort of devolved into a high-score contest. With the better tools in RS2014 and the elimination of a pure score mechanic I'd like to set up something a little more constructive that can help us all improve, especially the newer players.
As an experiment I'd like to choose a couple of songs, focus on them as a group and spend a week or two practicing them and as a group post our questions, tips and progress. If you're interested in doing this, post here and I'll add your name to the group. Once we have some members I'll probably just randomly select someone to choose some new songs to work on. We've been updating approximately weekly, and choosing one "base" RS2014 and a bonus DLC/Rocksmith 1 track for those that have it.
If you want to talk about a song, preface the post with Band : Song : Arrangement so it's easy to track. Hopefully as time goes by we can compile a 'library' of tips and experiences that can help us all be better players.
mr_n00b was kind enough to put together this Google Doc to track prior songs and help everyone record progress. It's very helpful if you want to go back to a prior track to see where you are. Hooray for mr_n00b! May the seed of your loins be fruitful in the belly of your woman. /Neil
