Yes. Yes they are.

I'm fine with that as long as I can use my Beholder's Crown. For what, I have no idea.

Is anyone else using RunKeeper? If so, what's your name on there? Mine is Scott Boeckmann. Feel free to send me a friend invite.

Friend request via FB sent.

stumbled onto this thread yesterday and thought it was a great idea. I hope to do a half-marathon in the summer, so i figured 500 would be a nice overall goal for the year.

Looking at sh** while feeling regal as f***, I presume.

Well what kind of a multiplier do I receive for wearing a kilt while running? I'm running this in March.

None, unless you're the only one in a kilt.

Not much regal about a Beholder Crown... it will let me cast Disintegration a few times, though.

I would cast the sh** out of slow during a competitive race. If you people were in it, though, I'd hit ya with some haste.

The jokes almost write themselves:

1 use each of charm person, charm monster, disintegrate, eyebite (sleep), fear, finger of death, flesh to stone, inflict moderate wounds, slow, telekinesis (violent thrust)

I'm pretty sure someone has cast "irritate bowels" on me during several races back in the day. You have to be at a pretty high level to cast that one I hear. Those people are the worst.

Turns out those assholes come out to a lot of triathlons too. Particularly the longer ones....

I am training for another year of Tough Mudder. Can't wait!

It's just... so... muddy...

Awesome! I am jealous.

They have it all over the country and the world. See if one is happening near you!

I'm in. I ran just over 300 last year, after topping 1000 the year before. I'm aiming for 750 this year, but I've got a LONG way to go to get my fitness back. 2 miles without stopping was an accomplishment today.

Great idea Nomad et all.

Not the best idea to run 5 miles the day I took a blood test. I did it just fine but when I got home I was seeing white :p

Just updated the sheet and saw that everyone has miles entered. Go team!

I added a new field below the Current Total GWJ Average. It lists the number of miles you should be at for the current date (if you were to spread out all the miles evenly throughout the year.) That way people can look at it and see approximately where they stand towards meeting the goal.

Excellent!

Thats awesome. The motivation is kicking into high gear! It's a nice weather week too.

For those looking for new running shoes:

ASICS Men's GEL-Kayano 18 Running Shoe was $150 now $73

Nice catch. I've been needing new running shoes. I'll give these a try.

I added an optional Current Week's Miles section to the right on the spreadsheet. I am concerned that I will forget if I've entered mileage to my total or not, especially if I forget to enter anything for a couple days. For those of us who don't have a GPS unit or anything, this might be helpful. I know it will help me keep things straight since I tend to think by the week.

If it's annoying to anyone, maybe we could just move it further to the right on the spreadsheet so it isn't visible.

New Asics and balaclava came in today. Can't wait to give them a test run.

I'm still hoping to get in on this, once I kick the flu. I think I have the lung capacity of a malnurished penguin at the moment.

Or you're just calling attention that you are miles ahead of the rest of us.

*Meep Meep* I think there were some marathon trainers as part of the group, so they'll pass me up eventually.

I ran a fairly quick five miles yesterday (38 minutes). It felt good at the time, but geeze, I was tired today and dropped my daily run down to 3 slow miles.

Finally, MEC has shipped the last part of my winter running gear. Here is the specialized gear that I am using. (pictures are links) Once the Yaktrax crampons come in, I can start running.

Balaclava

Beyond that, I have a one-piece long-underwear I will be wearing, a long-sleeved t-shirt, a thin jacket to cut the wind, a pair of gloves, and a pair of wind pants.
