At the request of our overlords I am going to start posting trailers in this thread - despite the joy I get seeing several threads started by me.

To start it off I thought a teaser for Expendables 3 would be a fun one to start with. This should please the folks that liked the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes teaser becuase it also gives away nothing about the story! Actually I kind of like this one. I don't really care about the story of Expendables 3. I care about big explosions and guns. And somehow the tune works quite well.

Gareth Edwards knows how to frame a shot. Shame he got blackballed after Rogue One.

Did he? This was announced in 2020 and unless it's changed the same producer from Rogue One is producing this one.

Edwards was an up and coming director when Rogue One was made. Godzilla was a success. Before that, Monsters was a really interesting low-budget, kinda art-house thing. As I recall events, Disney lost faith in him part way through and brought in someone else to finish up the film. They quietly blamed him for the film's mediocre reception. A few years later, Rogue One is seen by a lot of people as the only decent film of the Disney era Star Wars movies.

After making Rogue One, Edwards lost all the other projects he was attached too and hasn't been able to make a film until now.

It's still not at all clear what happened with the making of Rogue One. The various stories seem kind of suspect, with lots of people spinning the narrative in order to stay in Disney's good graces.

That's not true... like i said above. He announced the movie in 2020 with the same producer he had on Rogue One. That's not losing support or projects. It's just taking this long due to covid.
