I'd love to see a TV Series based on Red Dead Redemption. There are so few westerns out there nowadays, especially in the TV world.

I was just thinking that!!!

How about Timothy Olyphant as John Marston?

Olyphant would be great. Could also see Mads Mikkelsen as Marston. Ultimately I think I would have to go with Josh Brolin.

Why has Josh Brolin become such a thing recently?

While I like this idea, as the opening cinematic for L4D was awesome and I'd like to see more of those characters... it's basically the walking dead, and I think the show would likely never escape that shadow.

Didn't think a glamour shot would be a good example for a character with zombie blood and guts all over her.

I think where an L4D movie would succeed even with TWD out there is it's pace. While TWD is a drama series, a L4D 2-hour movie would be a semi-fast paced action flick focusing on the characters rush through one of the "campaigns" while being attacked by zombie hordes. Throw in some of the specials and it would definitely be a fresh take on the zombie genre. It's also fertile ground for a tetralogy.

Movie 1: the Mercy Hospital campaign. The survivors are thrown together by circumstance and, hearing of an evacuation point at the top of the hospital, make their way through Fairfield to reach it. On the way they learn the virus is causing mutations (spitter, boomer, etc.). The movie ends with them reaching the helicopter pad at the top of the hospital. As the helicopter flies away, the last shot is of a bloody set of teeth marks on the pilots' leg.

The subsequent movies would be based on additional campaigns with the last movie ending with the boat escape to the Florida Keys.

It would be a great set of movies, but we're specifically talking about TV series, per Disco's question, and I agree with Demo that it'd be incredibly difficult to have a L4D series running so long as The Walking Dead is still on the air. It'd stand a better chance if it didn't get made until after TWD finished, but it'd still get tagged with "The Walking Dead except some zombies mutate."

I'm going to go with The Secret of Monkey Island starring Paul Rudd and Karen Gillan.

Honorable mention to: Viscera Cleanup Detail with the same cast.

I'd like to see Team Fortress 2 turned into some crazy saturday morning cartoon like Ren and Stimpy.

And yes, loving the Red Dead with Josh Brolin idea...

Josh Brolin is one hell of an actor.

I've mentioned before that the world of Mini Ninjas would make for a wonderful children's animated series. Too bad Eidos couldn't cross-media market it and right now Squenix isn't doing much with the property.

I'm surprised no one has stated television shows set within the Mass Effect or Dragon Age universes. In fact, having recently watched a (long) video comparing Skyrim, DA:O and DA2, I think a story like DA2's, focused more on politics and such, would have worked a lot better as a television series. You also don't have to recreate the games and can set them in a variety of time periods due to how rich the universes really are.

How about a Bioshock (Infinite) mini-series? Stories from Rapture/Columbia?

Oh gawd that's a good idea.

It's the best idea! I fully support this!

I could see DA2 working well as a TV series. 100% with you on that one.

Only with Sarcastic Hawke.

A show set in the Half-Life Universe akin to something like Falling Skies.

Gordon Freeman - played by Bryan Cranston

I'd love to see a return of this:

Wait, there are other types of Hawke?

Cause he's awesome? Hah, but seriously that's perfect casting for John Marston.

Nobody answered my question about Brolin, I really wanted to know why he became a hot commodity in Hollywood. Two seconds of digging and I saw No Country for Old Men listed. Duh.

The Goonies pic wasn't enough?!

Look... Goonies are always enough.

Wing Commander with Freddie Prinze....wait. No. Do over.

Funny enough, they did make a Wing Commander cartoon that lasted all of one season. Surprisingly, they did get some of the major actors from the FMV to do the voice overs. Too bad the show was horrible.

For me, I'm having a hard time coming up with a game. I think Red Dead is a good choice for sure. Maybe EVE Online? Although there is no story built into the game, there is definitely a lot of intrigue and drama that is user generated. Although really I think it'd just boil down into a Battlestar Galactica type scenario. The one cool possibility is that the game could generate episodes for the TV show, although I know everything is really slow moving in the game.

Gah, I definitely will have to think on this to come up with a better one.

I was thinking old school and going to say Roger Wilco Space Quest (the show would just be called Space Quest, I think...) but can't commit to casting.

I'm now considering a creepy claymation series based on Limbo...

OMG. Nathan Fillion is my absolute favorite, too...it's quite disturbing to see him Zapp-ed!

I thought of him (because I'm usually thinking of him ;), but worry that whole past as a space cowboy might be too similar for something like this.

No one said Metroid with Charlize Theron? Really?

As a television show? Nope. Hell, not even as a film. There are just some games I don't want to see leave the video game format.

Atras wrote:

There is just something offputting about that lady, and I'd assume a decent amount of time in this would be spent in Iron Man Face Cam with holographic interface right on her. Meh. She can be a good actress, but everything I ever see her in, I end up disliking her character.

Even Arrested Development?

X-Com, with a tough, multi-ethnic, multi-gender cast. Laverne Cox as the commander, channeling Andre Braugher in Brooklyn 9-9

Ooooo you know, I like this one. They would have to constantly be turning out different cast members as everyone in X-Com is essentially a red shirt
