Post me a .GIF - Tell me a story!

Well, Bridgestone still hasn't managed it.

Bridgestone tires aren't specced for < 3mph in 1/6 gravity. That's a cakewalk of a design constraint.

Sound on - I like it better than the original.

That's a hell of a thing.

I might sound like a broken record, but why are we posting videos in the GIF thread, when we have a perfectly good thread for posting videos in?

We may just have to accept that those lines have blurred, what with the gifv format and nearly every hosting service for "gifs" actually hosting them as gifv or some other video format explicitly so that "gifs" can have audio as users are growing to expect and demand.

Ultimately, "gif" is just becoming a way of saying "short form video" and us aging elder millennials and younger gen x folks are going to have to face facts that while we were obsessed with fighting the last pedantic gif war (soft vs hard G sound, that is -- hard G, of course) the youth swept through and changed the entire pedantic gif world under our feet without us noticing.

Everything in the "videos" thread is Youtube stuff. To me this stuff feels like an extension of GIFs rather than a real video.

At least that is why I do it.

I am happy to post where people would prefer

Your rationale makes perfect sense to me Farley. I'd rather see these types of videos here.

Whatever the format, I'm just tired of having to choose between opening them fullscreen or having an unknown % of the right side cut off.

Sorry if I was a little punchy this morning. I was trying to make a funny comment and now I realize it's more snarky than funny!

Keep postin' whatever you want Farley!

If it has sound, it's a video (though I don't care where they're posted).

Just to be clear, if you inspect the source code of Imgur's "gifs with sound" you will see that are .mp4 files, as are many of the higher quality, silent "gifs"

Personally I don't care. I'm fine with shorter, humorous videos being thrown in here along with the more traditional gifs. I'm in this thread for short, silly entertainment, not for video essays, explanations, or longer sketches.

This. Especially when viewing on desktop with 1/3 of the right side of the screen left blank as a gray bar.

Obviously the only solution is to create a "Post me a GIFs-with-sound" thread. Pronounced "Jiffs", of course.

It was a more civilized time.

If you get your water from a well, it's not treated water the same as if the house was on city water. The water cooler is a way of getting purified drinking water so that if the well water gets contaminated you still have something to drink that won't make you sick.

Oh, that's just cruel. I have seen a full video of that and it goes from removing old shoe to putting the new shoe on. This one cuts away before the hoof is even completely clean.

That's some harrowing sh*t right there.
