What We Know
- Bravely Default is a the spiritual successor to Final Fantasy: The Four Heroes of Light for the Nintendo 3DS and 2DS. It might not officially be a Final Fantasy game, but it sure as heck looks like one.
- Bravely Default was developed by Square-Enix and was originally released in Japan in 2011. After significant interest from fans, Nintendo announced earlier this year that they would be publishing the game in North America, Europe, and Australia. The version we're getting is actually an expanded version, dubbed Bravely Default: For the Sequel in Japan, that includes a number of new features designed for the forthcoming sequel.
- The game features a jobs system inspired by games like Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy Tactics. Combat is turn-based and involves optionally over-playing your turn for a chance at greater damage, leaving you vulnerable during future turns.
