FF13: GWJFFL Week 9

That's kind of the tenet of GWJ. A place where we can play games together and when real life intrudes, like people going AFK for baby/pet/whatever, they don't get ostracized from said community. Kind of why a lot of us gravitated here.

I was on the fence with playing or sitting Arian Foster this week. Between roster lock and kickoff, while reading injury reports, I realized he was active but wouldn't see any snaps. I had no one to blame but myself for not benching him. That was the risk in waiting so long to make a roster decision. Should I have chosen instead to ask commissioner to change my roster after lock?

If it was after lock but before kickoff, you could have. "Should" is up to you.

It's definitely something I don't think should be done at all. At some point, if it's done, it will result in the commissioner substitution resulting in a win for the team who received that rule exception. It's not a matter of if but when. Mathematics. Rather than have to deal with that scenario, why not just stick with the rules? Set your rosters before roster lock.

I understand if my style of running the league, where I try to be accommodating of the fact that GWJ-ers sometimes have obligations and time constraints that can occasionally cause them to be just a few minutes late in setting their rosters, is not for you. I'm sure there are other leagues more focused on the letter of the law than the spirit.

Edit: That being said, if there is a large consensus with your position, I can certainly be more strict. I am nothing if not a servant of the people.

The only way I can lose in Dynasty is if Lacy has a huge game. This Rodgers injury isn't looking good for me.

One more field goal...

Took down the #1 team in D1 last week. Can I do it again this week? :D

So yeah, that happened.

If you have #1 by your name you don't want to play me. :p

Ugh, even though i finally had a good showing in D1 all of the teams ahead of me for wildcard spots won as well. Going to have to get lucky to make the playoffs.

Alright, point taken.

Two in a row in Pro! Somebody cue up the theme song from "The Jeffersons."

I need you to stop winning because when you do I lose. SCIENCE!

whew, and BARELY pull out the win in keeper.

Also, this is the first time in 5 weeks I'm NOT playing someone who is currently in the running for the #1 spot. It's been a rough schedule.

I was behind in Dynasty by 1.35 points going into Monday night, with Aaron Rodgers to go.

"Oh, that's a win, as long as Aaron Rodgers doesn't get hit by a bus on the way to the game".

He goes down early in the game, but not before securing 2.25 fantasy points and my victory.

Good on you, Aaron Rodgers. (Sorry about the loss to the Bears).

Sadly, a loss in Keeper prevented me from going 3 straight weeks with wins in all 5 of my leagues (3 GWJ, one Reddit, one friends & family). Can't complain about 14-1 in my last 15 fantasy matchups, though. All of my teams are now ranked 1, 2, or 3.

Don't worry. I'm sure I'll come crashing back down to Earth before long.

I'm done.
Farewell cruel FF world.

You're not done when you're 4-5 and a team that's 5-4 would make the wildcard if they won now.

Put that $67 free agent budget to use and rebuild and make a wildcard.

I almost jokingly posted yesterday that I had that game in the bag since there was no way Rodgers would score more then 1.25 points. When he went down it got my hopes up for a fantasy victory but then I checked and of course he did just enough damage.

In Keeper I also had the match-up of Rodgers vs (me)Jordy Nelson with me down by 10, wrote that off as a loss Sunday night but really I should have won that had Seneca not sucked so badly.
