Help me pick a laptop

I have decided to replace my aging desktop PC with a gaming-capable laptop. Space isn't an issue yet, but it will be after I move into a tiny condo.

My requirements are as follows:

  • Under 17" (smaller is better)
  • HDMI out
  • i7 4800MQ CPU
  • GTX765 or better
  • 240gb or better SSD
  • 1TB storage drive (or at least a bay to add one)
  • 1080p or better built-in display

I started looking at Sager/Clevo laptops, but every review I've come across has hated the touchpad. I'll be using an external mouse when I'm at a desk, but don't want to hate working with the laptop otherwise. I love the looks and build of Alienware so I haven't ruled out a 14", but the cost is obscene. The MSI GT60 is a 15.6" and with a GTX770 comes out $100 cheaper than the Alienware 14" with a GTX765.

Are there other options I should consider? How important is the difference between a GTX765 and GTX770? I want this to be fairly future-proof (I know, stupid goal when it comes to computing) so would it be worthwhile to spring for a GTX780? Ideally, I'd like to keep it around $2000 which is doable until upgrading to the GTX780...

I find you get what you pay for in Laptops to be very true.. Alienware's build quality is far better than the Asus and MSI gaming laptops.. Razer is even better..but you pay for that. I have the latest Alienware M18x R3 as well as the latest Razer Blade 14" Both are very nice gaming laptops.. can't go wrong with either of them. It's a shame Alienware ditched their 15.6" Model.. the 17" is nice but almost as heavy as the 18"

My biggest problem with the Alienware is I'd be limited to a GTX765. With the MSI GT60 my options are the GTX770 or GTX780. Also, reviewers haven't exactly complained about the screen brightness, but the Alienware 14 display is noticeably dimmer than the MSI GT60.

If I decide that I'm fine with the lower end card, I am more likely to go with the Razer Blade 14" over the Alienware 14... and just get an external drive for storage.
