Who do I talk to in order to get an invite. I started dabbling again with the Romulan expansion pack. The Fleet is Federation correct?

Catch me or T'Uvia online are the best bets.

What's your (and T'Uvia's) full in-game names for contacting (I believe it's character@account)? I'll add this info to the OP as well.

Tribble Test Notes:

New Features:

Dyson Sphere Battlezone:
A battlezone is a persistent ground combat zone where players battle enemy NPC's for control of the map.
Players can currently reach the zone by talking to Voth Defectors in Earth Space Dock or Qo'Nos.
The battlezone is intended for level 50 players and can hold up to twenty players per instance.
Each player can bring two bridge officers and can team with up to five players without losing them.
Meaning a team of 5 players will total 15 including bridge officers
The team UI will show your two bridge officers and your player teammates but no their bridge officers.
Each capture point scales to the number of players that are around it, starting from 1 and capping at 5.
The goal of the zone is to capture and maintain 18 out of 21 points on the map. This will trigger the final stage, where players must defeat at least one of the three boss fights to succeed. After this, the zone will go into a cooldown state before resetting the capture points to begin again.
Players can earn dilithium for the daily missions and Voth Marks by participating in capturing points

Reputation Sponsorship:
This feature allows players that have maxed out a reputation on one character to have double reputation experience for all of their alts in that same rep.
Characters that have reached Tier 5 in any Reputation will see a new project available in that Reputation: "Begin Sponsorship Procedures for Upcoming Officer"
This project costs 100 Marks from the applicable Reputation, and completes in ~5 seconds.
Completing this Project will reward that T5 Character with a Sponsorship Token applicable to that Reputation.
This Token is Bind-to-Account-on-Pickup, and is designed to be traded to other characters on your account via your Account Shared Bank.
This project can be repeated as many times as necessary.
All characters will see a new Tier 1 Project in each reputation: "Claim Sponsorship"
This project may not be immediately visible until a character interacts with the Reputation System in some way.
Even something as simple as slotting any project then canceling it will trigger the projects to appear.
Even though this is a T1 Project, it can be run by any character of any rank other than Tier 5.
This project requires just one Sponsorship Token (no other inputs) and completes in ~5 seconds.
Completing this Project will reward that character with Double Reputation XP in that specific Reputation, for the remainder of that character's lifetime.
This means that the Projects that previously rewarded 2000xp and 800xp will now give 4000xp and 1600xp.
For testing purposes only on Tribble, projects will now complete in 30 seconds instead of their stated time.

General:
Mk XI Omega Force Ground Set accolade.
Resolved an issue which was blocking completion for captains who began progress on the set prior to the implementation of the reputation system.
Resolved an issue with clipping for the Female Romulan Republic Upper uniform #1 piece.
Traits:
Resolved an issue where the Defense from Subterfuge had stopped stacking
Resolved an issue where the Stealth from Infiltrator was unintentionally stacking.
Avenger Battle Cruiser -Command - Strategic Maneuvering:
This command's turn and speed bonus no longer diminish over distance on affected allies
Captain will receive a flat constant speed and turn bonus if affected by this power.
Cruiser Command tooltips should now indicate who they affect: yourself, allies or both.
Removed the costume load button from the Outfits screen of the tailor.
This button previously did nothing.
Voth Space Group
All ranks of Voth ship equipped with it now use their Immunity Matrix power more often.
Voth Battleships and Dreadnaughts now use Gravity Well instead of Directed Energy Modulation.
Voth Battleships and Dreadnaughts are now able to use Beam Overload.
Voth Ward Repair Ships now have increased hitpoints.
All ranks of Voth ship now have an increased chance to summon a Repair Ship when they die.
Voth Aceton Drones are now faster and better follow their targets but have less health.
Voth dreadnaughts are now able to transport player ships into Gravity Wells.
Dyson Joint Command Reputation Added a new project "Deliver Reports of Joint Command Victories":
This project requires 350 Dyson Sphere Marks and will output 5 Dyson Joint Command Commendations.
This Upgrade project is available at Tier 0, becomes unavailable at Tier 5 and has a 20 hour duration.
This project is intended to support players who tend to play in long, but in infrequent play sessions, allowing players to stockpile commendations for the rest of the week when they cannot actively play.
Reduced the Dyson Sphere Mark cost on all Tier Upgrade projects to 5 marks.
New Federation Tutorial:
Resolved an issue that broke progression when logging out of STO in multiple locations:
Starfleet Academy.
Flying to your ship in the shuttle for the first time.
On the ship after the shuttle sequence.
Cutscenes have been improved
Though they are still receiving additional polish
Resolved an issue where some players got stuck while fighting Klingons after they board the ship both in the hall and the bridge.
After destroying the Jamming Satellites in the space portion of the new Federation tutorial, the Klingon Captain should more reliably appear.
Adjusted the end of Vega Ground so that it should always allow beam out.

Known Issues:
The Dyson Commendation earned after completing Storming the Spire is being rewarded after each play instead of once a day.
Reputation progress does not transfer with characters copied to Tribble. We're investigating alternative solutions to allow transferred characters to try out the Sponsorship system.
Numerous maps in game and in the Foundry will appear white.
Foundry is not accessible.
Occasionally, security officers are blocked in the Armory in the new Federation tutorial blocking progression.
Romulan Captains cannot rearrange their HUD in system space.
Fleet members do not display in the fleet roster.
Ships are translucent in the character select screen.
Rewards for the battlezone are not finalized.
Environment art for the battlezone is not finalized
The introduction cutscene for the battlezone is not finalized.
You cannot currently choose which bridge officers you bring into the battlezone.
There are a few spots in the Battlezone where captains can fall through the environment.

I logged in this weekend after a long time out of the game. Sheesh, the interface has gotten hugely cluttered. I can barely remember what most of the abilities do and can hardly see the buttons to activate them. It really put me off a bit. I'll have to see if my interest to dive back in can whether the UI storm.

I had the same issue when I logged back on awhile back. That and there were so many 'mini-games' going on here and there that it was a little overwhelming at first. The best thing to do is to move the extraneous crap from your UI and start placing stuff elsewhere that de-clutters the screen.

New mini-patch, still got Q, they added the Elachi Alert STF - pretty simple.

How many of the new CWJ recruits are actually on the GWJ forums?

Very few if any, most likely.

The new ship given for the storyline mission reminds me of the Klingon carrier, at least in how it moves. Almost painful, but then I've been running around with escort style ships, so I'm used to a much more nimble vessel.

New ship? Storyline? What are these things you speak of?

Sphere of Influence. Pull up the PvE menu and there should be a banner ad for it, just click on Unca Worf and have a safe, calm, relaxing away mission where everything goes as planned, no surprises or problems.

Wait, let me check my notes on that...

Is that on Tribble? I did not think it was going live until later this week.

Live as of the patch this morning, I haven't been on Tribble at all. Did the missions, got the ship. You'll probably be seeing a lot of them flying around for a few days.

Edit: Note, this is not Season 8, more of a run in to it. No Voth, no Battlezone, etc.

I'll be rerolling a character soon, I think, seeing as how I got stuck halfway through the Romulan missions. I think I may have overleveled them, which in turn overleveled the enemies. Perhaps just sticking to the storyline missions and ignoring the random missions on the planets would work better?

I just leveled a Romulan up to 50, by avoiding (almost) anything other than the storyline missions. I mostly avoided outleveling the missions that way. You may also want to not do much with the duty officers too, they bring in a lot of exp, so just do the DOff missions that bring in new DOffs.

DOFF'ng is how I got my list three characters to VA...

Looks like they started a Feature Episode Rerun on Halloween.

Going until Dec 5.

So now is the time to create a Romulan if you've been holding out. Or just get back into the game, and get some very nice mission rewards.

That's no moon... wait, maybe it is. Wonder if its big enough to have an innate gravity field.

Decided I wanted a second Omni-Directional Anti-Proton Beam Array to stick on my shuttle, so I reran the Sphere of Influence mission. There is now a aftermission wrapup, you get the option to Hail a Subcommander Kaol. He offers some information that is obviously a lead-in to the Voth encounters to come.

I love the way they casually drop in bits of information of truly insane importance. The disappearance of the Jenolan Dyson Sphere... a fracking Dyson Sphere doesn't just go pop like a soap bubble and quietly vanish. Sheeeeesh.

I ought to rerun that for the other thing to stick on the carrier.

Running through my daily Doff assignments, it becomes obvious that this Kamarag is really such a warship. Any time I need a warm body to fill a slot in a Doff assignment (i.e. just any officer, no skill needed, no particular trait, no particular rarity), I send off for one of the science officers. The significant other asked 'why aren't you sending someone from Security to do that?' 'Because they are off doing important things. Raiding freights, or colonies, or Federation facilities. Or escorting the traders who are selling the items those raids bring back.' Make War pay for itself, right? The poor scientists just get no respect.

Well; I tried to come back to the game after a year and a half and none of my characters are there. Ticket is entered but we'll see what happens. I don't think I have the desire to start from scratch.

Not sure how far along you are, but leveling does go by surprisingly fast, and the changes are (in my view) all a big positive for the early game. Lots of good content there to enjoy that wasn't before.

I can understand the frustration of losing everything, but you might have a good time rolling a new character.

Plus, Romulans?

Of all the MMOs out there, STO is the last one I'd worry about starting from scratch. Heck, just running crew missions while you are at work - unattended - you could have an Admiral in a very short period of time. It's a real hippie of a game; just ask politely and it'll give you what you want.

I keep it around for when I'm in a Star Trek mood. All the whooshing and whizzing around in space is quite atmospheric.

I got my characters back. Yay! I'm the CWJ fleet and I did not want to lose my Level 50 Admiral Engineer. Memories you know? I will likely be running up my tactical officer as well as she is only level 13. It is taking some time to get used to all the stuff that has changed but it's nice to be back in the ol' big bertha cruiser.

Also; did they change what happens when you achieve Vice Admiral? You used to get a 5th Tier ship but I'm seeing on wiki sites that you have to also be a 600 day veteran to quality. That is saddening to see if that is true.

I think you get a kit to revamp an older ship.

Not supprisingly most of the "best" ships either require crazy grinding (at least for credits to buy on the AH) or spending some moola on some Zen.

That being said it is only really noticable if you PvP (which this game implements poorly anyway).

The Romulan expansion was free right? Hmm... that space combat was really fun. (up to the point where they introduce tachyon and other weapon modifiers where it was unclear what each one did)

Is there a romulan ship chart somewhere? (with pictures)

This site appears to have the best information out there right now. There are not great images of the ships; but it does break them down by faction and career path.
