Video Game Deals Catch-All

Looks like another free game on Epic this week, with free in-game crap for some free game as the 2nd choice.

LumbearJack is the actual game.

Rawmen: Food Fighter Arena... whatever

They are advertising Apex Legends content next week, plus 2 free games.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness
Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation + Chronicles
SteamWorld Heist

It is time for GOG to get a steam installer. To claim these I need to install gog galaxy on a PC, claim the code, then go to the steam deck, go to desktop mode, install the games from the Heroic launcher, add them to my steam library and finally be able to paly them.

Way to many steps. Just create a dedicated steam version of gog galaxy (if valve will let them)

You don't need to use GOG Galaxy to redeem codes. Just go here: https://www.gog.com/en/redeem

Yeah I was about to say web GOG works fine. If you're logged in on the browser, redeem codes is under clicking on your user name.

Amazon redeem instructions are just wrong. GOG has never required Galaxy

Cool. Thank you both

I have redeemed it now I just have to get it added to steam. So easier but still a pain.

At one point I'd installed GoG Galaxy through Steam Proton so that I could launch that from Deck's gaming UI. Not exactly what you meant but roughly the same. I think I went back to using Heroic last time I played a GoG game on Deck tho.

Also, isn't Heroic adding the game links to Steam for you automatically? Pretty sure it did last I used it.

Humble has some pretty nice bundles going right now. If you haven’t checked them out in a while, see if they have something for you. A board game bundle, LEGO games, pixel graphic games, a strategy game one, I forget what else. I bought three of them.

Warsim is $4 on steam. This is a text based kingdom building game. Some of the units are tiny goblins and some are huge mountain sized titans of flaming flesh. But you wont see them because it is all text.

You can enslave the world or free all slaves . You can take part in arena battles, wage war with hell, summon demos to fight for you, or do other dumb stuff. Oh yeah you wont see any of this stuff because like I said it is all text. However, you can see it in your mind like the matrix code.

See this is the type of game that would have owned my life on my Commodore 64 back in the 80s.

In other news I'm old.

I loved the tutorial. Legitimately a bit bummed that it didn't stick with that aesthetic throughout.

I must have totally missed the tutorial. I just started the first mission and was thrown because there was no explanation of mechanics or anything. So, I figured it must be because everything is pretty self-explanatory. It is not and surprisingly has a large amount of depth and variety--except I was pissed because there was no explanation on how to actually play the damn game. I'll need to find the tutorial--I have no clue how I missed it.

Freebie games this week:

Epic
Death’s Gambit: Afterlife

Amazon/Twitch (with subscription)
En Garde
Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical
Hard West 2
Beholder 3

Another freebie roundup! Epic has a AAA game so go get it!!!

Amazon/Twitch Prime:
KeyWe
Figment 2: Creed Valley
Young Souls
Spells & Secrets

Epic
Callisto Protocol

Callisto Protocol was much maligned on release, but free is definitely a good price to check it out.

Weird, for me the Epic freebie is something called "Gigantic", which appears to be an overwatchlike, and "callisto" returns an empty search. Region-locking I guess?

I can add it to the cart but then got the region locked message on checkout.
Edit: vpn to the rescue.

I had the option for both (US). Though Gigantic is some MOBA that I assume no one plays anymore (ever?).

Dude, even with the tutorial and researching stuff, it's hard to figure out. The GUI is not good. I still love the game though. Gorgeous graphics, tight gameplay. Switch to easy mode to make unlocking upgrades easier.

For anyone that's picked up a Riffmaster guitar, the Rock Band 4 Rivals bundle is $10 on both the Xbox and PSN Stores. Somewhere around 100 songs in there.

Bonus freebie:

Tropico 4 on GOG

I received it for free with my video card and I was disappointed.

Having zero foreknowledge, I’m enjoying it. Very Dead Space-y. I’m only 5 or 6 hours in, but I’m still enjoying it.

The controls and combat were weak, reminded me of when I replay games from 2001ish before games god a grasp on how to use controllers in a 3rd person game.

More game freebies!

Amazon/Twitch Prime:
Arcade Paradise
INDUSTRIA
The Collage Atlas
Borderlands 2

Epic store:
Fallout Classic Edition
Wild Card Football

Also give this post a like if you find these useful, so I know if I should keep doing them or not. It’s kinda the same thing every week…
