Video Game Deals Catch-All

Oh I am SO mad.

After years of having it on my wishlist, I sprung for the big Humongous Entertainment Complete Pack on Steam during the Winter Sale a few months ago. $50 for the lot.

And NOW, they decide to sell the collection in a Humble Bundle for $14.

We thank you for your sacrifice.

...and now it's my turn.

Free on Epic this week: Call of the Wild: The Angler™ & Invincible Presents: Atom Eve

Free on Epic next week: Islets, which I bought and played through on Steam earlier this year. Solid little Metroidvania which does a few neat things and wraps up in under 10 hours. You're welcome.

I almost bought that on sale last week, but decided not to.

Gog giveaway: https://www.gog.com/en/game/book_of_...

Also free via Twitch/Amazon Prime: Fallout Tactics and Pearls of Atlantis: The Cove

New Boomer Shooter bundle from Humble contains my new favorite Turbo Overkill.

It’s a contender for my 2024 GWJ Community Game of the Year.

Evil Genius 2 for two bucks. Thee bucks for the deluxe which I think has all the dlc. A flawed game but I can spare three bucks on it. Was really surprised it was this low.

Islets is free on Epic and it's a really nice game.

It really is! Play it!

Any ideas when the Xbox Easter sale is kicking off?

Oh, that's a bummer. I had never seen that before on Epic.

I was able to get it by changing my VPN to the US.

Hm, I've actually never dabbled in vpns. Bummer.

The Xbox Easter sale is supposedly going live on Thursday. Not sure exactly what will be discounted yet.

There are free ones out there which, while not good enough for regular streaming etc., might be enough to checkout with the game. TunnelBear gives you 2GB apparently.

Some game called content warning is free on Steam for like 13 more hours. Has a 97% rating? Dunno seems like a popular giveaway

Kenshi is on sale on Steam for $9.89, a new all-time low.

That's a pretty good price for the best game ever conceived.

Thanks! I was looking for my next game and had never heard of this. Looks amazing!

I've banged my head on this game several times. Any tips for a beginner?

It looks like GoBots Mount & Blade! I kinda want to try it but it does look like I would bang my head against it as well.

Uninstall and ask for a refund if it's been less than 2 hours?

Never listen to Stele, he is troll.

I wrote a big tips post when we played this for the CRPG Club.

For some absolute beginner tips:

* You want to train Athletics early, which affects your run speed. Athletics is trained by simply running around while carrying little to nothing. Running back and forth within a safe area counts. Once you can run away from things, your survivability goes way up.

* Getting your ass beaten down isn't a failure. Getting your ass beaten down is a requirement to build Toughness. Get into fights and get your teeth kicked in. Most enemies won't try to actually finish you off when you go down (carnivore animals and cannibals being important exceptions).

* Pick fights right outside of town with Starving Bandits or roaming animals, then let them chase you into town, where others will jump into the fight and help you. This will let you get some fighting in while managing your risk levels.

* Once you're able to recruit someone, you can really train your Toughness efficiently by having one character go run into mobs and get beat up solo, while the other one stands back and swoops in to play medic after the mob walks off.

Don't worry, I never do.

Ohhh, those are great tips and a useful post (unlike Stele's), thank you.

GMG has a 20% discount ($50 $40) on Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, spiritual successor to the fan-favorite Suikoden series.

Nice giveaways on Epic this week:

- The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition
- Thief (2014)

I saw Princess Peach Showtime for $5 off at Costco for $55. It's not much, but with Nintendo, any discount on a new game is worth noting.

Microsoft Spring Game Sale will be live 4PM EST today. Supposedly there a ton of games included.

THIAF!

I'll finaly get to finish my Garret grand tour, as soon as Dwarf fortress releases its weakening grasp on me.
