Video Game Deals Catch-All

One of loading tips gave me my best solution to endless deaths so far… take advantage of speed and sprint as much as possible. If you slow down for even half a second or pause to change direction (without using the time slowing mechanic), you’ll get smoked immediately or walk right into a bullet.

Ubisoft is giving away Ghost Recon, Ghost Recon Wildlands DLC Fallen Ghosts, and Ghost Recon Breakpoint: Deep State until October 11th.

For anyone with an XBox One or PS4 collecting dust, Gamestop is offering $50 bonus credit for console trade ins until 10/9. Console trade-in values are higher than I expected, likely because next-gen consoles are so difficult to acquire. It looks like I should get $300 in store credit for my PS4 Pro. I'll find out tomorrow for sure.

Free on Epic: PC Building Simulator

Free on Epic next week: Paladins Epic Pack & Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse

Skyward Sword HD is $40 at BestBuy

Metroid Dread amiibo are in stock at both Best Buy and Target, depending on location. Store pickup only.

Just to follow up on this, I traded in my original Xbox One for $160 and PS4 Pro for $325 in store credit today, which can be used towards digital gift cards for Playstation, Nintendo, Steam, etc. Pretty crazy.

Well dang maybe I should sell me PS4 slim. I haven't touched it since I got the PS5. Figured I'd sell to goodjers but maybe that's enough.

Can that credit be used toward the new consoles if you’re able to snag one?

Is it sad that I can't even be bothered to do what little it takes to get these?

For you or Ubi?

I can't see why not. They told me there used to be a few restrictions on using store credit for certain items, but no longer. I'd ask your local Gamestop to be sure.

Yes, anything for sale in the store. You can't use it on a new console if they don't have them in stock, though, which is where I'm at after doing this promotion a year or two ago.

Basically you can’t use store credit on gift cards for other retail outlets, so while you could get a bunch of digital credit for the major platform holders (which might sell hardware), you can’t get something like an Amazon gift card or a Visa gift card.

I only grabbed these cause I thought it was wildlands that was free not just dlc. So yeah rather disappointing.

And for the Breakpoint DLC, you can’t just redeem through the website. You have to reinstall and purchase within the game.

I recommend Stubbs the Zombie from my rosey eyed glasses. Good music and setting. With some fun gameplay of being and zombie and leading them.

I played this. I know I did. The only thing I remember is the soundtrack.

I remember the twist. not sure I would pay to play it again but for free. Yeah sure.

I bought the soundtrack, and still listen to it. My kids like it too, though not as much as I do...

Fanatical has a great bundle going on:
Pick 2 for $6.49, Pick 3 for $8.99, Pick 6 for $16.99

My recommendations:
Tomb Raider GOTY edition and Veminitide (obviously)
Just Cause 3 (if you're into that sort of thing)
Thief (ie, Thi4f...not happy with the new Garret but still a good game, especially at that price)
Life is Feudal: Forest Village (basically a slightly easier, less detail dense version of Banished)
Tales of a Neon Sea (cyberpunk pixel art adventure)
Punch Club (punch things!)
We, the Revolution (I know, yet another French Revolution RPG simulator. Like enough already)

I can vouch for Murder by Numbers being a solid story-driven Picross; at least on Switch

Just bought Thief 4 and Tales of a Neon Sea, where they will immediately be buried under an ever growing pile.

Oh man. Thief 4 was such a disappointment after the first 3.

I was gonna give you a hard time for harshing his vibe, but then I remembered Thief 4 was basically Other M. If you ignore ALL the exposition there's still some decent sneaking to be had.

Oh myyyyy....

Return of the Obra Dinn on sale on Switch again.

Troubleshooter: Abandoned Children on sale on Steam again.

Both pretty well liked around here.
