Video Game Deals Catch-All

Is Agents of Mayhem actually any good? I love SR3 and SR4 is ok. Is it like those games? If I remember correctly, the reviews were pretty abysmal.

I'm not even a huge Saints Row fan. I think I only ever finished the first game. Don't think the knockoff series is going to be my thing.

It's meh. The writing is pretty funny, but the game itself isn't the best implementation of a lego game I've ever played.

I disagree, it's the best Lego game out there and I mean that from a gameplay perspective. Every Lego game since I basically think "Undercover did this better".

Yup.

It wouldn't be the first time I was alone in an opinion, but I just found the gameplay in Undercover to be dull and lifeless. The writing was great, but actually running around the world and doing missions wasn't enjoyable to me.

Granted, I played it on the Switch, so take that for what you will. I don't know if that version was markedly worse than other ports, but I hated the driving mechanics with a passion, especially when Lego Marvel felt like it did it so much better.

The reviewers were expecting Saints Row 5 and threw a fit when they didn't get it. Agents of Mayhem exists in the SR universe, sort of, but it's really a character shooter for fans of single-player games. It has great writing (if you like that sort of humor), good shooting action and one of the most diverse casts of characters in video games today.

I'll admit that the open world felt a little small, and it didn't have a whole lot to do in it, but the story missions made up for it in my opinion.

It's not a markedly worse port in any way, but it did release on Switch four years after its initial release (as a Wii U exclusive). It was developed concurrently with the first Lego Marvel Super Heroes game by a side team and released just slightly before it. If you're playing it now with some experience with the games that released in between then and now, I'm not surprised if it's less exciting than it would have been at launch.

The driving is the worst bit in Undercover. It was functional and as bland as it was it was still better than the driving in the Disney Infinity games.

Everyone told me that Marvel would supplant Undercover as my favorite Lego game, but I think I prefer the one character who does it all in Undercover vs. the 500 characters in Marvel (slight exaggeration on the number of characters, I'm sure).

This, on the other hand, is worth your time.

Seconded. I'm about to fire it up to see if I can convince myself that paying for extra characters in 2018 is a thing I am willing to do. (doubtful, no matter how much I'd love Kinzie and Gat on my squad. )

Thirded. I'm having so much fun with the game. It doesn't take itself seriously and it is so much better than the reviews would suggest.

I loved my time with Agents of Mayhem! I love the character design and the variety of abilities. The art design really worked for me too, more than the Saints Row games did. For me the look of the game is kind of like the 70s cartoons I watched as a kid, only it's how I imagined they looked, not the schlocky art they actually had. If that makes any sense. It tickled my nostalgia bone.

Putting on my negatives hat re: Agents of Mayhem.
There are definitely parts that feel unfinished, tacked on or poorly balanced.

That said I got two characters to Super Agent Level 20 last night and I still don't have all the characters unlocked. Open world with random missions? Yes please!

Nioh (PS4) $27.99 via Newegg w/ Code: EMCPREP39
Think this is today only.

Plus a lot of good deals and hourly flash sales.

Oh so it's exactly like a GTA game in that regard?

Hunie Sekai Bundle

I probably won't buy this since I still haven't played anything from the last Hunie bundle, but it seems like a good deal at least.

Holy cow that's a lot of panty simulators. I haven't performed an exact count, but I am quite certain this bundle must have every single panty game available in one easy-to-sniff package.

So you 100% bought it right?

My backlog means I am trying really hard to ignore all bundle sites.

My friend tells me that if the bundle allowed non-steam redemption of the titles that they would be more inclined towards supporting the charities in question.
The Steam recommendation engine is skewed enough as it is.

Dead Space is free on Origin.

I might buy in at the $1 level just to see how they add panties to an arcade flight simulator.

Plus, I really like arcade flight simulators.

Play it for the articles, man.

I opened the humble email at work. Needless to say...not cool Humble, not cool.

Hey, don't get your panties in a bundle.
Seriously. I'm just trying to help.

What was too long, and why weren't you playing with it?

Some kinda weird reverse size queening going on there.

If Sands has convinced any of you that you need to try EU IV out or if you are looking to add some DLC to your library Paradox is having a pretty good sale right now on their entire catalog.

https://www.paradoxplaza.com/seasona...

Everything is 50% off and most things are buy 2 get 1 free.

Paradox is running their 3-for-2 sale again for Valentine's Day. I've noticed that this is now the cheapest way to buy most expansions for their games: it matches the lowest Steam Sale discount (50%) they have these days for the first two, and then provides a free similarly priced third one. That's a (beep boop beep) roughly 66.666666666666666667% discount overall.

The sale ends February 19th 2018 23:59 CET.

No panties, no sale.

Hmm. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I like the cut of your jib, sir.
