Video Game Deals Catch-All

Too late, redeemed. I need it on my pile o' unplayed horror games.

This was a great deal. I'm hoping the disc version goes on sale for Christmas.

It's dead as of this morning. I'm still not sure why I got it, since my record of finishing horror games is basically 0/n, where n = every one I've ever bought.

I think I was thinking "maybe if I ever get a PSVR, I could try this", which is also a silly plan. But hey, $20 for the game and all the DLC is a really good deal.

I've read in quite a few articles that RE7 is absolutely frightening to play in VR.

Not gold, but just picked up Stardew Valley and RE7 for $9.99 each at HEB, after coupon. $10 off any $19.99 PS4 game. Didn't apply to SV, because despite being labeled at that price, it rang up at $9.99.

I need to find out whoever is mislabeling games at this store and befriend them. Got SallyNasty Dishonored 2 for $3 when it was marked $15 earlier this year (and selling for $60 elsewhere).

As a heads up, PlayStation sent out another "What's new this week" email with a 20% off cart purchase coupon. If it's like last time, the discount will even work with stuff that's on sale. Gang Beasts, Ultimate Chicken Horse, and Okami are pretty tempting now.

Super Hot is free if you're an Amazon prime twitch prime member.

If you have amazon prime then go here and link to twitch to get this all setup if you have not already.

Fire Pro Wrestling is on sale on steam finally. Like I needed another game right now.

Free Games on Humble contiue with Layers of Fear + Sountrack.

Not my kinda game at all. but now i own it.

I don't know how humble can keep on giving away games like this. What exactly is the angle to all of this that I'm missing?

Hmmm so you can only download the soundtrack if you install the game? Got a invalid error notice when I tried to install it.

Probably cheaper than advertising.

Literally dozens of games release on Steam every day, and even quality releases get lost in the flood. Sales drop off quickly, so publishers (including indie self-publishers) drop prices to compensate. Eventually the last price point is "free" with the idea that in exchange for giving away their product, publishers will receive more nebulous benefits like reputation and word of mouth. Many see it as an investment in their next project: someone who got their current game for free and enjoyed it may be willing to seek out and pay for the next one.

It's a pretty classic supply and demand problem. The supply of new games has increased dramatically more quickly than the demand for them at traditional price points, so prices have fallen precipitously as a result. Bundles, extreme sales, and giveaways are the result.

I'll add that to get the free game, you see a couple pages with all their sales, and a pitch for the Humble Monthly. They probably don't pay much per free game, so it's like paying for hyper-targeted advertising.

Also I think you need to make an account no? Expands the customer base. But yeah mostly advertising.

Oxenfree shocked me with how good it was when it came through GWG. Had no idea about any of the theme or plot and was dragged into it quickly. Very surprising game that only takes about 4 hours to beat and can get multiple endings based on decisions.

Also, I had started AC:BF a while back and gave up on it for some reason. I'm playing it again through this Ubi offer and I'm not sure if it's because it looks better on my PC or if I'm just more apt to play these sorts of games the older I get. But I'm getting pretty sucked in. I forgot how fun the ships were.

So Kingdom Classic is free today as of 12-19-17 on STEAM

Oxenfree isn't even typically the type of game I enjoy and I liked it.

I just want to say how much I appreciate this thread. Thanks to everyone who took the time to post.

I really liked AC:BF. I had a lot of fun with it, but then hit a game-stopping bug. It's an assassination that's required to advance the story, but it crashes to desktop as soon as the target dies. I've reloaded old save games, going as far as replaying about 3 hours of content to get back to the assassination, and it still does it. I don't think I'll be going back--there are just too many great games I could be spending my time with rather than trying to troubleshoot that one.

Yeah, whenever that happens to me, the game goes in the bin. Life's too short.

Target has Steam Wallet, eShop, PSN, and XBL cards on deal this week. Buy one, get one 25% off. Basically free money for upcoming steam sales and current holiday sales on all the networks!

Death Road to Canada is down to $1.50, from $15 on the Google Play Store.

Not really something I thought I'd enjoy on a phone, but the 30 minutes I spent with it on the bus yesterday were great! I really liked it.

Unfortunate! But I'd do the same. I've heard great things about it but never dug into it really.

Not finding this online— in store only?

It's in the weekly ad so I would think online too. I wonder if their system doesn't apply it to email delivery which is all they sell online. My guess it is the physical cards only which they only sell in store.
