Yeah. I would prefer if this thread could be the everything Xbox thread.
The One Xbox Catch-All, as it were.
So GamePass Ultimate is getting more content, EA Play.
Ironically, I have no desire to play any of those games. I’m not a sports gamer.

EA Play's back catalog is where I find a lot of the value. The Dead Space series is great, and the complete Mass Effect and Dragon Age series are available there (and backward compatible). Some of the EA indies have been good, too. I liked both Unravel games, and Sea of Solitude didn't work for me but I know it has its fans. I don't have a lot of interest in the Battlefield or Battlefront games, but they're all there, too. There's a lot more in EA Play than sports games.
BC Dragon Age, huh? Sweet!

Also Anthem.
I am certainly interested in DA: Inquisition as on the ps3 I was unable to do anything once i got to the desert area. Game had a severe lock up and I could never load to it. Didn't want to start a new character if it would only happen again.
More though for me is that it certainly is an added value. GamePass keeps getting better. While I wont be playing a vast majority of them, it is nice that its added, in case I would like to. For people that do play a lot of the EA titles especially sports games, then it might pull them into the ecosystem.
I just replayed the entire Dead Space series recently (thanks Pandemic!).. its a shame that series went sorta off the rails with 3 and then just died completely when EA decided SP games without deep revenue models werent worth it.

I loved all 3 games and wish for a remaster/remake.
Plus you’ll get SW:TOR on PC which I am having a ball playing with my kids.
Also means I recently upped for EA Access on both PC and Xbox. Crap.
Oh and Sims 4!

My problem with EA Access is that I already own all the games it includes that I care about. I would often sign-up for a month of it to get the discount on the new Bioware game since the discount was like $10 off and one month only cost like $5 and I could play the game early that way.
Though to complain about a gift horse though. I mean free is free.

Wait, what? That sub is included in EA's game subscription? I thought it was separate for some reason.
You don’t get a sub but you get the base game. Just enough to whet the appetite although you can do a lot FTP in that game.
So the free-to-play deal it’s had for years, but advertised in a new place. Hey, that apparently did wonders for the game when they put it on Steam. I was just excited that I might be accidentally subbed to SWoR again.
I thought SW:TOR base game was already free? At least it seemed to me back when I played it (though I did get a subscription for other stuff).
I may have missed it, but did they say when EA Play would be added?
Right now it has been announced as the nebulous "Holiday 2020" time period. So, probably any time after Black Friday to Christmas.

Looks like it went F2P in November of 2012 less than a year after it launched.

I would think that Nov 10 (alongside the new consoles) would make for the biggest splash. It is strange that they didn't name a date specifically, though.
An all-digital Series X called the Xbox Series V?
I assume it's fake. There's only one source for it, and, there's been nothing that has leaked out about it. Think about how poorly-kept the secret of the Series S was. We haven't heard a peep about a Series V. There are now multiple Microsoft products on the market (controllers, game codes, etc.) that specifically reference the Series X and Series S before the Series S was even confirmed, and those things don't mention a V series.
I'd be inclined to agree.
It always baffles me the lengths people will go to creating fake tech news...
My 1X is still a virgin. If they made an SV type of option I would pounce. But really, just leaving out the optical drive wouldn’t drop the cost in a significant way, would it?
I’ll most likely be using the MS zero interest financing anyway.
Super Fake... besides we know well that Microsoft if they intro a third model will call it the Xbox Series E
"Series V"? Bah. Everyone's just going to call any mid-tier Xbox the "Series E" regardless of what's written on the box.
A download-only X is certainly going to happen eventually. I don't think it's coming any time soon.
Apple has changed it's stance on streaming game services so now xCloud, Stadia, Geforce Now and others should be able to come to iOS... but each game available on the service must be released as it's own app?!?!? They are also required to include in-app options for signing up for the subscription and to sign-in via Apple ID.
I saw that. I imagine that they're having a good, long laugh about it in the xCloud office.
