Ditto!

A little public service announcement if you're into Halo: MCC, and/or achievements in said game: if you went through the campaign on Legendary and did not get "credit" for your achievements and/or in your service record, a great way to "remind" the game that this did, in fact, happen... go back in and do a speed run on EASY and complete the level... it'll first give you credit for this, and then sort of wake up and say "oh... yeah... and you did it on Legendary before!" about 2-5 minutes later.

EDIT - this seems to be working on every game but Halo2... hmm...

I just want to thank Top Shelf and the others who recommended Rayman Legends again as I am really liking it a *lot* despite my platformer concerns! It's just perfect for what I wanted for right now and won't interfere with getting through my RPGs. It also kind of reminds me of the Keflings game that I played on the 360 (another Games with Gold) that I really liked, although that one was more of a strategic resource management type game rather than a platformer. Maybe playing Rayman will help me to get better at platformers in general so that I'll have less trouble with others I've previously attempted!

No prob.

This community is the best.

It's starting to feel real!

Here's hoping for a Crackdown that is informed by Saints Row 4! Crackdown's structure has always been so shamelessly thin - and this is coming from a guy who finished them both.

So, does anyone else have trouble playing BluRay discs in their XB1? I have a brand new disc that is from a small indie outfit, and I am getting an error message saying that I need to put in a BluRay disc. Thing is, they sent a dual BluRay/DVD, and the DVD works fine. But I want HD, dammit!

I've watched exactly one Bluray in the entire time I have owned the conse, since launch. It was fine.

It's funny, I always planned to get a PS3 once the LotR trilogy was released. By the time it did, not only were stand alone players better and cheaper, but I had gone to streaming only.

Was getting an error code on using the BR player for a DVD (Monster's Inc, so it's old) all weekend. That same DVD's been in there for a couple months w/a few dozen plays. But was also getting weird Netflix errors and system hangs, too.

Yeah, I realize that relying on the XB1 for BluRay is silly, since I am committed to streaming/digital only, but this particular niche thing hasn't gotten there yet. Bummed if I can't watch this with the best quality, but will live on.

Well, I've found that porn doesn't really stand up to full HD as well as you might think.

Xbox Live has been having some service issues for the past couple of days, so that could explain the weird Netflix errors. Not sure if it would have had any effect on Blu Ray.

If it's the first Bluray you have played on it it might require a download. With stuff they have to license they usually have you download it so they don't have to pay for licenses for people that don't use it. XBL being down might have borked that process.

Interesting. Perhaps that's it. Will check again tonight.

I get errors with my BluRay player all the time. Doesn't matter if it's a brand new disc or one that's old and scratched, it will occasionally just tell me there's no disc in the drive and I have to take it out and put it back in before it'll recognize it. Games work fine.

Just saw this 'out there':

On Xbox One, Xbox Live Gold members can download Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes for free during the month of August. That should keep you going until Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain comes out in September.

Meanwhile, How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition will be available as a free download on Xbox One from 16th August to 15th September.

The original crop of XBONEs were notorious for Disc Unreadable errors - not just movies, but games as well. Lots of forum posts on Xbox support forums. Also controller desyncs, WiFI issues, and HDMI pass through issues are pretty prevalent in Gen 1 boxes.

That's what causes my controller desync issue? Like, controllers disconnecting in the middle of a game?

I've been experiencing that issue with my launch console a bit over the last few months as well.

I also once had the disc read problem, but hard reset fixed the issue. At the time I was concerned that the drive was dying, but it has not occurred again in the last 8 months, so hopefully it was a fluke.

Yes - mine happens after power down and I have to completely unplug the Xbox. Yours sounds like it may be electronic interference or placement. Apparently they are very susceptible to spectrum interference and being placed inside Entertainment centers with a lot of metal or glass doors blocking the receiver etc...

The biggest problem I've had with my Xbox One from day one is the center channel audio just randomly disappearing. Am very tired of having to play everything with sub titles on.

Yet more reasons I will be avoiding consoles at launch in the future.

The 360 is getting Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light for August GwG. What is the difference between these and the Redux versions that were released for the X1? Is it just graphics or are there actual gameplay differences as well?

We have 2 launch consoles and never had a controller issue. Did you do the controller firmware updates?

I had to send my launch day XB1 in for repairs due to not recognizing game discs. But I've had zero of the controller disconnect issues.

Iirc, there were gameplay advances/polishes/etc that they made for LL that were incorporated into 2033 in the Redux version.

Good catch! I just updated them. We'll see how it goes. Thanks!

If they can pull this off, I will be delighted.
