Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D (No Spoilers Beyond What's Aired)

Loved the final. One of the best episodes of the series.

So... is it good or bad that I peaced out mid-way through the GR arch?

Is it worth catching up or no?

The LMD arc has been fantastic! This last episode was one of the best episodes of the season, if not one of the best episodes of the series.

Yeah, I really enjoyed the latest episode.

As for May, I read somewhere that in the Framework, Hydra won the Hydra vs. Shield confrontation, and the whole team works for Hydra now.

In the overall arc, they really doubled down on the "who's an android" thing, but I thought it worked out okay in the end. Made for a lot of tense exchanges and emotional character moments.

I am NOT happy to see the return of Grant Ward.

I don't need to see anymore Grant Ward either and was in fact annoyed that he would even be there given the outline of the parameters of 'success' when in the framework.

Well as Aida found out, May really thrives on conflict. So maybe she's happy to be undermining Hydra.

One pair of images from the end of the episode that I recall seeing was a snazzy Fitz getting out of a limo, then turning to help a woman out, whose face we don't get to see -- immediately followed by a shot of Simmons' tombstone.

They also said that when Daisy and Simmons enter the Matrix Framework, they'll land in the bodies of their respective characters as they exist in the Framework world.

Does this mean that Simmons is going to wake up buried alive?

I also found it a bit hard to swallow that Radcliffe failed to program Aida v2 with a "don't attack me" instruction -- as we'd already seen him do with the May LMD. (Maybe Aida's access to the break-the-rules Darkhold let her rewrite her own programming in that regard?)

Regardless, it should be fun to see what the writers do with a "mirror universe" type scenario. It worked well for a number of episodes in the various Star Trek series.

Aida said something about restarting the framework every time they needed to fix someone's regret. This was just after Radcliffe exited and accused her of leaving him in there for more than 24 hours.

Yeah I am pretty sure the Darkhold is responsible for everything that is happening with Aida.

It may just be my general superhero burnout talking, but I've really had a hard time staying interested this whole season. Through the whole LMD arc, I pretty much lost the thread on everyone's motivations, which makes everything way less satisfying. It doesn't help that the "bad guy" doesn't really seem to have much of a defined plan other than to invasion of the body snatcher everyone and stick them in the matrix, I guess?

Like I said, superhero burnout, and I should probably just cut my losses and bail.

Not that I know, but probably last season...you may as well stick it out for the back 9

Anyone watch this week?

I hated this episode, but my son loved it. I was admittedly in a sh*tty mood though. The twist with Ward being the good guy was fun though even though you could see it coming a mile away.

I just kept repeating in my head what Simmons finally gave voice to; that everything seems so real but ultimately isn't. I also hate the trope of the good guys losing their memories, having their personalities changed, or their bodies taken over (see Star Trek: The Next Generation).

Can we get back to the "real" world please?

Prediction:

Spoiler:

Good Ward is downloaded into a LMD!

I refuse to watch any more Agents of SHIELD episodes with Ward in them.

I just haven't got around to it yet. Probably this weekend.

I accidentally missed last week and didn't realize it, so I spent the first five minutes of this week's episode being very confused.

Wow completely unexpected turn of events! I'm loving it!

They went Saints Row on this show.

Holy crap this season is crazy.

I'd forgotten that they'd ended season 4 with a huge "WTF THEY'RE IN SPACE NOW" moment, and had to watch a recap of season 4 because I thought I'd missed something in the last episode

The Ben-Wa balls of death are certainly something.

Almost feels like the rock thing beamed them over to The Expanse.

I like that they're having fun with it. Mack is like, "Of course we're in space, it's the only thing we haven't done yet." That made me laugh out loud.

That and the comment about "you know who would die first".

And the robot hand comment, and I'm sure there's more. Mack is killing it this season.

I thought this was a clever way to both sidestep and reference the whole Thanos storyline - but now it seems it was Daisy that destroyed the Earth? Wha?!

Also, when are we going to see more about Fitz and the weird dude back in our time?

This show is bananas and is lot of fun so far. We even got a Peter Quill clone!

destroyed the Earth

wut.

what the hell is going on with this show? I tapped out just after ghost rider.

I attempted to watch The Inhumans, and despite being a huge Marvel fan, couldn’t get into it. But I did appreciate the line, I believe by Yo-yo, about being sure that S.H.I.E.L.D. had a secret base on the moon.

It's either turned amazing or terrible. I legitimately don't know which based on this thread.

To me, it feels a bit like Dr Who. The good ones.

I'm not sure if they're in the process of jumping the shark, or riding the shark down a waterfall of fire.

Now Hawaii 5-0 has definitely jumped the shark. They replaced the two lead actors who left with new vaguely ethnic characters, they've introduced a dog, and the most recent episode had the lead cop guy suddenly flying a plane in an aerobatics race.

I can't believe Hawaii 5-0 is still on the air. I stopped watching that show in season 2 because it was just so bad! Like worse than The Inhumans bad. And that's saying something!

It's only been two episodes this season but SHIELD is bananas good! I'm loving it.
