The Red Rocket is missing as many open receivers as his fellow ginger in Cleveland.
That was some pretty bad quarterbacking last night.
As much as I like Mike Tomlin (W&M represent!), that Steelers team of his looks pretty sorry so far this season.
I've been thinking Tomlin's been propped up by Cowher, Dick LeBeau and Kevin Colbert for most of his stretch. I don't think there drafts have been all that great the past few years, though they are so slow to bring guys along on defense it's hard to tell.
Or this is all just the Todd Haley effect. Can't believe that guy has a job.
Also, loss of Pouncey is pretty huge.
This season, Jax has only outdrawn St. Louis and Oakland, although Miami and Minnesota have not had a home game yet.
I would have bet St. Louis moves back to LA, but the latest rumors and sentiments seems to be that Kroenke will get a new stadium to stay. The threat of leaving for LA will help make that happen. Hopefully they will do an outdoor stadium.

A few years ago people were predicting the decline of the Steelers because they had a great defense that was getting really old; they hung on as being decent for a few more years, but, well, they're really, really old. Polamalu being an athletic freak allowed them to do lots of different things, just because he could cover for other mistakes, but really athletic guys age badly. When your game is based on flying all over the field and you slow down, you fade quickly. Pittsburgh's been drafting lots of offensive linemen high in recent years IIRC, and their ability to replace whatever great LB they have with some low-round guy who turns out to be excellent has apparently finally faded.
They got old. Roethlisberger can't move around and take hits like he used to, Pouncey's a huge loss, and they're going to need to rebuild.
In other words:
Kush15 wrote:Why can't the league just move them to Los Angeles at this point. The NFL had no problem letting owners take football teams from Baltimore, Cleveland and Houston, and those fans at the very least appreciated and wanted a football team.
As a 2-14 team last year, with only 3 winning seasons in the 2000s, the Jaguars sold more home tickets than:
Buffalo
Detroit
Chicago
Cincinnati
Pittsburgh
Arizona
Minnesota
San Diego
Miami
St. Louis
Tampa Bay
Oakland
Chicago? Wow, Bears games are constantly sold out with one of the highest ticket prices in the league. I only went to about one game a year because 100 section tickets were around $350. Can I ask where you got these numbers. I'm not doubting you I'm just interested.
This shows you: http://espn.go.com/nfl/attendance/_/...
And, yes, Chicago sells out but the stadium apparently doesn't hold as many people.

That makes more sense. I didn't realize that Chicago had the smallest stadium in the NFL. I know that we didn't have a huge one but never realized Chicago had the smallest. Seems very anti-Chicago.

To be fair, not only is it small, it's astoundingly ugly. A glorious, old-school stadium that looks like it's being raped by a UFO.

Hey, some of us are into UFO porn.
Also, I didn't realize Soldier Field was as small as it is. Only the Oakland Collesium is smaller, which makes sense as that place is a baseball stadium.
Yeah maybe % attendance numbers would be better for the conversation about Jacksonville.
I'm sure they're still outselling Tampa considering how many local blackouts there are for Bucs games, and that blackouts are based on selling all tickets, not a certain number.
I wonder how much of the Jax ticket sales go to fans of other teams. NoFla isn't as transient as, say, the Orlando area, but Jax does have a major Navy base, and Orlando (and Georgia) are a quick drive.
That's one of the issues the Panthers have. BOA Stadium in Charlotte is essentially a ninth home game for Dallas, Washington, Pittsburgh and most other established East Coast teams.
HEY STOP POKING HOLES INTO LEGIONS LIST!
Completely forgot that the Packers added 8k seats to move up to third largest. More importantly the design of the addition of seats was also aimed to create more crowd noise.
I'm sure they will just give away home advantage again on the last day of the season. No I'm still not mad.
edit: apparently 4th but I swear the graphic I saw this weekend put them at 80k+
Since *Legion* was so busy looking up attendance numbers :p, here is the week 3 thread.
