NFL 2013: Week 2

sh*t. Really miss the old 5-yard facemask now. That was so incidental, he was falling down anyway.

Kaepernick and McDonald making some things work here for the 9ers.

I still think I should've benched Kaepernick in FF. Oh well.

I have Gore in both of my leagues. A whopping 1.6 points so far. Only 1 in the other league that doesn't count tenths. Ugh.

Which is honestly kind of a shock. Gore usually kills the Seahawks and Carolina seemed to run on them pretty easily last week.

That was a pretty soft call. Refs helping Seattle ice this game.

Just like last year @Seattle.

And f*ck Marshawn Lynch. That should be 15 for taunting.

Oh boy, not looking forward to two prime time Steelers games in a row.

Just had to take a break from putting my kid to bed to say ....

TOUCHDOWN SEAHAWKS!!!!

As someone who watched Giacomini get called for stupid retaliating sh*t about 10 times last season, I have no sympathy for teams/players that get called for it. It's the easiest penalty to avoid. Just don't hit the other guy (or if you're going to, get the first shot in, apparently).

As a mostly unbiased fan of the sport, who likes both teams well enough, could we please just see the Seahawks vs the 49ers every week?

Now are we still going to have some pretend debate about which team wins in Seattle? Now I'm not saying that San Francisco doesn't have a damn good shot at home themselves, but we all should remember last year's game in Seattle. I know everyone has forgotten it but please for the sake of accurate evaluations we should remember what happens so that when it repeats itself we aren't surprised.

There'd be nothing left after a few weeks - these are easily two of the most physical teams in the league. Personally, I'd prefer to see them split the home games and then see eachother in the playoffs.

Richard Sherman dancing w/the cheerleaders is a great way to cap my football weekend.

Go Hawks.

In accordance with NFL policy, WKMG must carry all Jacksonville Jaguars away games. We apologize for any inconvenience. An explanation of the NFL broadcast policies can be found at clickorlando.com

Wow.

Wow.

Why can't the league just move them to Los Angeles at this point. The NFL had no problem letting owners take football teams from Baltimore, Cleveland and Houston, and those fans at the very least appreciated and wanted a football team.

hey now lets not blame the fans. You can be a fan and still not be happy with the produce on the field.

The only time I get mad at Lynch is when he runs his mouth after a game. During a game I love how he gets in the other team's head - masterful psych warfare. You'd think these guys would have learned to shake it off their senior year in high school, yet Lynch somehow still gets to them.

In other news, Seattle breaks the Guiness book of world records for loudest crowd roar.

Before Sunday's game, I saw somewhere that Mario Williams was playing for the Bills.

"Oh, yeah, that guy," I said to myself. "I totally forgot where he was."

4.5 sacks of Cam Newton later, I can confirm that Williams does indeed play -- and play well -- for the Bills.

In related news, if any of you can run a sub-6 40, the Panthers will be holding open tryouts for DBs this week. Pretty much every DB who played for Carolina on Sunday got hurt. The worst injury befell SS Charles Godfrey (the only DB worth much of anything) -- he might be out for the season with an Achilles injury.

Next up for CAR: The Giants, who need a win to get their season back on track. I'm pretty sure Carolina can help with that.

I think you're talking about Sherman, not Lynch. I don't know that Lynch has ever said a word to anyone either before or after a game.

Maybe "Skittles".

Update 1: As feared, Panthers SS Charles Godfrey gone for the year. Ouch.

Update 2: Ron Rivera still employed.

Also, the Panthers' SB Nation blog is doubling down on a 14-2 season. It's super-snarky, of course, but there's a glimmer of hope. Carolina's next opponents are the NYG (at home), ARI, MIN, STL, TB and ATL. That's six straight wins right there!

I would have felt better about that stretch had the Panthers not choked up in Orchard Park. Also, I'd feel better if Carolina had some DBs. Maybe Tom Coughlin will agree to play 7-on-7 this week.

OMG TOM SO SEXY XOXOXOXO

damn it. thanks for the nightmares.

I must eat my own words about the Eagles scoring too many points too quickly. Chargers had their number. See if they can get back on track against the old coach on Thurs.

Biggest Bengals fan ever tonight. My hatred for the Steelers knows no bounds. If Pittsburg starts 0-2 I'll be so giddy I'll have a hard time sleeping tonight.

I'm very excited to se the Chiefs defense take on the Chip Kelly offense. The Chiefs are playing a very attacking style of defense, and the offense is designed to take advantage of just that. But if Dontari Poe continues his domination at NT, I think they can disrupt the entire process. Poe, along with pro bowlers at DE, two of the LB's and SS should create some interesting match-ups.

I have no idea what will happen, but I can't wait to see how it plays out.

The Red Rocket is missing as many open receivers as his fellow ginger in Cleveland.

Rothlesburger needs to throw at the righthand image instead of the left as well.

Go gresham go.
