Video Game Deals Catch-All

Curse you humblebundle! I thought I was good for the remainder of the month..

It amazes me how many of those I already have at least the bases game for. If there were any DLC involved, even just a bit, I might be interested. No big deal, though. I bit on two of these in the last month.

Consider the Amazon sale. Lots of DLC for CK2 up for sale.

I've got most of the games I'd want out of this Humble Bundle, but I'll probably jump in just to get soundtracks.

Steam Greenlight Anniversary Sale. 50 Greenlight games are on sale.

Gnomoria for $2.72 is a steal for that.

+1

agreed, at least 20 hours of entertainment out of this one.

I hit 30 hours within a long weekend, well worth a few quid. Regular updates too!

Yep. That will do!

Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah. I'd be all over that but I just got EU IV and the Civ 5 Expansion, so... Good stuff, though.

Oh man, this is bad. All the Sims 3 expansions are half price during Amazon's game sale.

Hm I just got the sims from the humble bundle and I've been eyeing ambitions. Are any of the other expansions any good? The night club one was rather meh.

Steam Keys for GRABS!!!! Thanks to humble bundles I have the following up for grabs.

Mirror's Edge - Steam

Was hoping for Magika to be a separate key, but alas it was bundled. PM if interested.

Down to Just Mirror's Edge.

Bonus, and Andon enjoy the games!

I have no idea what's good. I just got it in the Humble Bundle myself, and I'm having a lot of fun with it. World Adventures looked interesting to me. Maybe I'll ask over in the not-very-populated Sims 3 thread.

Cities in Motion 2 for $5 on Steam. That thing is practically brand new!

... and yet Cities XL still refuses to drop..

Please say you also read the book! One of my favorites as a kid.

Prison Architect 40% off on Steam. I remember passing on it during the last sale. Is it a 'game' yet or still an alpha sandbox?

They just released Alpha 13 yesterday.

Their bug reports on Twitter are pretty funny...

Today's bug. Prisoner tunnelled out of perimeter wall and rather than running to freedom, stopped and handcuffed himself.

Also this...

Has anyone played this that can tell me if it's less impenetrable than the first one? I love the idea of this game but the interface and tutorials were so bad in the original that I literally couldn't pass the tutorial. I've tried multiple times and after the third attempt, gave up and uninstalled it.

Not yet, but it's got 25 hours left on sale. If I put in a little game tonight, I can have a summary report on your desk by morning

All the same, I really liked C.I.M 1, so maybe we have different taste in european mass-transit management simulators.

I actually didnt... though I've been wanting to. Is it something an adult could pick up if all I've seen is the movie?

The secret world is on sale from their site or gamefly for $14.99. I played about 2 hrs of it yesterday and it seems like an amazing Mmo I'd highly recommend it

I think so (I had written "Absolutely," but I'm being a bit more guarded in my remembrance).

I seem to remember the book having a lot more nuance with a greater emotional complexity. But, this is trying to recall it from reading it >20 years ago. It was one of my favorite books from my childhood through teen years.

Actually, I reread A Wrinkle in Time recently, wondering if my son was old enough for it. Man, that's a short, relatively straightforward book, but there is a lot in there that has an emotional impact for an adult. Things I never caught as a kid. Its structure seems so much simpler as an adult than I remembered it as a kid. Now, The Book of Three wasn't as simple as I had remembered it. I haven't read the second novel in either series yet, but I'll probably dip back into them.

I loved A Wrinkle in Time when I was a kid... Good to know there's still something there as I haven't even really even thought of that book for a long time.

I felt like I got the tutorials in the first one until I realized they were giving me way too much freedom and I basically bankrupted myself in the tutorial. I haven't gone back since. I think I did play the first part of the tutorial twice, though.

Aliens: Colonial Marines $5 on Steam.

Is it worth it for that price?

No, not in a million years. Go play natural selection for free this weekend. Still a better game.

Not to derail toooo much further, but the rest of the books in the series are pretty awesome too. Well worth a read as an adult.

I liked the first one but the 2nd one never clicked for me. Still a must read.
