Video Game Deals Catch-All

Free PS+ and $50 to spend on some PSN titles or DLC is pretty darn tempting. No annual fee, no harm done.

Exactly. I'll get the card, make the mandatory purchase in order to get the goods, and then never use it again.

Huh, I get an error when trying to buy the PS+ subscription. Annoying.

I just bought the Desert to Sea Bundle so I have a code for Bioshock 1 up for grabs to the 1st non-grinder who PMs me. Activates on Steam.

So I took it upon myself to solve the problem, turns out my billing info was out of date. Way to explain that in the error message Sony. That's seriously embarrassing.

Skyrim + released DLC is 50% off.

I went ahead and signed up for that Sony credit card deal. The PS3 I'm buying tomorrow comes with a year of PS+ so I guess I'm invested now. According to a Sony employee (I think?) on the page linked, you need to be a Sony Rewards member to redeem the free stuff with it. It's about halfway down, the a comment with a red background. Sign up here.

Here's some context, two comments on the story:

Stringy07: F.y.i. You have to be a member of Sony rewards to receive the 12 months of PS+ and the $50 PSN code.

Michael Steranka: That’s true, so make sure to join after you sign up for the PlayStation Card. Then once you make your first purchase with the PlayStation Card, you’ll get an email from Sony Rewards with instructions on how to claim the PS Plus subscription and $50 PSN code.

Strange that this has been going on since September and nobody's mentioned it here.

I signed for Sony Rewards also (glad you mentioned that part). Sony Rewards was awkward to find even using Google (more talk about it then people seeking the thing itself). Still haven't gotten an email yet. Also, with the credit card deal I am considering using the $50 to turnaround and get another year of PS+. I'm patient, and might be fine with the free games being the vast majority of PS games I play.

These offers always seem iffy but damn if that isn't tempting.

Well, it's supposed to be, and there's a reason for that.

Aaaaand that PS+ deal is only valid in the US. Getting real sick of this nonsense.

Steam has a weekend deal of all 3 Dungeon Siege games bundled for $15.

I've never played any of them but I'm tempted. Any enabling out there?

They're not bad.

Might be too late to answer this now but...

Dungeon Siege 1 is awful and should be avoided at all costs, it reduces gameplay down to walking along a winding corridor and remembering to hit the potion button when ever your red bars get too low.

Dungeon Siege 2 is better, still has some of the same stuff as in 1 but it's a far more entertaining ARPG. A bit over-long though and still shares the "one linear winding corridor" thing with DS1.

Dungeon Siege 3 is made by Obsidian and continues their streak of "sequels to games that are better than the ones made by the original developers". It plays more like the Baldurs Gate : Dark Alliance games than Diablo. The "Story" is fluff and the mechanics are a little shallow but I had a LOT of fun with the gameplay to the point where I played it through twice and would be quite happy to do so again. Also remarkably bug free for an Obsidian game.

Note that I think I recall correctly the Steam versions of the first two games do NOT come with their respective expansion packs. The first two are also missing their multiplayer components, so you are just getting the single player campaigns of each.

Hey, WATCH IT!

Amazon has Mark of the Ninja for $3.74, activates on Steam. Also available is an Arcade pack for 9.99 with DEADLIGHT, Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, Iron Brigade, Mark of the Ninja and Toy Soldiers for 9.99, except this pack is eligible for the $5 "Editor's Choice" credit. The pack seems awfully tempting, except that the pile is simply enormous and I'm not much of a fan of arcade-type twitch games, really only want to try Mark of the Ninja since it's been talked up so much.

Enable/disable me Goodjers!

Would there perhaps be a US goodjer that is willing to help me out with that Amazon deal for Mark of the Ninja? $3.74 is too good to pass up, but it's not available to me here. Can paypal the funds instantly if anyone is willing!

It's too late, they've already invaded and colonized the northern states.

$5 for Mark of the Ninja and those other games you may not like (Iron Brigade is awesome, btw). That's a steal.

Done. I'll PM you.

12 month XBL gold card is $35 at Best Buy:

What's this "Iron Brigade"? It looks like a ripoff of Trenched.

Spoiler:

In all seriousness, this game currently shows as Trenched on my local 360 console achievement list, and as saved on disk... presumably because I haven't played it since the title update, or the title update has expired off my local 360, or something. Regardless, I'm fine with it staying this way forever. My own personal "f*ck you" against international trademark laws. [/P&C]

I was upset when I downloaded the DLC and had to update to play it... I still call it Trenched.

Sadly, I stopped playing because the DLC was balanced for multiplayer and I couldn't find a game.

I figured since it was an MS XBLA pack, that Mark of the Ninja would also have MS achievement and use GFWL, but it doesn't. Just an FYI for those of you who might avoid GFWL stuff.

If anyone else wants Mark of the Ninja, I have an extra copy. I bought the pack thinking I had passed on Mark of the Ninja during the steam sale, but evidently that was not the case. First non-coffee grinder that PMs me can have the code.

Edit: Claimed.

Amazon has the same deal, too.

If a US Goodjer is also willing to help me out, I will happily PayPal you for one of those Microsoft Arcade Packs on Amazon. What a deal! Please PM me if you're willing to pick it up for me and send me the code. I'd much much appreciative.

PM sent.

Another Canuck here wondering if one of my fine neighbours to the south would pick me up an Arcade pack, and I can paypal them the cash?
