SO sold.

edit: DAMN IT! Only shipped to UK Plan = foiled.

No experience with play.com myself, but my brother orders all the time
from play.com and gets it shipped to Holland. I think it's even free
shipping..... so check it out!

I'm thinking about picking it up but the more I hear about the developers, the more I get the impression that they make cruelly difficult games that can be quite frustrating. I don't know exactly how that manifests, but I've gotten that impression from a few different sources. Anyone here play the game?

Yeah, lots of us!

There is a big old thread on it somewhere that I am too lazy to track down at the moment. There are lots of mods and difficulty tweaks to make the game more approachable if you find it too punishing out of the box.

I almost pulled the trigger on that deal. But with steam I have to! Strange that the game would appear in both sites the same week though.

Mayhaps they are trying to push it out there to garner more interest for the Clear Sky expansion?

Valve wants all the money in your wallet! From 10-75% off of EVERYTHING in the Steam store! Can you resist the ultimate weekend temptation?!?!!!

AGH! All my monies! Gone! Thanks Valve.

Allow me to add the one I just buckled for: Civ IV complete pack is $25.

Curse you Gabe and your relentless assault on my bank account!

Eternal Sonata (360) for $9.90 at GoGamer.com.

Great price for this game.

Peggle Extreme - $4.99
Stalker: Clear Sky - $17.49
Silent Hill Homecoming: $24.99

Allow me to add the one I just buckled for: Civ IV complete pack is $25.

I've always wanted to bite, how steep is the learning curve?

Yeah, some of the things on sale at Steam don't have huge discounts. I've gonna through the whole store and added most of the stuff I want but what I have in my shopping cart doesn't really save a lot. The best discounts seem to be on bundles.

Dawn of War Everything Pack - $29.99 (50% off)

In addition to that which has been mentioned:
Ultimate Doom - $1
Multiwinia - $5 (we've been trying to get a group going, go buy it now!) or Multiwinia+Darwinia: $7.50
Mount and Blade - $15

It's hard for me to judge since I've been playing Civ since the beginning, but I think the game does a good job of not confronting you with more complexity than you're ready to handle. Personally I think gamers owe it to themselves to play at least one variant of Civ.

Damn you, Valve! You know how to take my money. I wanted L4D and Fallout 3 for Xmas, and since my wife didn't know how to buy them for me online, I waited until today and saved $24 on both. You are forgiven, Valve.

My name is Valve Montoya. You'll be billed further. Prepare to buy.

Picked up World of Goo (25% off), Company of Heroes Gold (25% off), Multiwinia/Darwinia Bundle (50% off), and the Civ IV complete bundle (50% off). Valve, you make a grown man cry.

Damn looks like my credit card bill is gonna get fatter.

Dawn of War and Mount & Blade here I come.
Peggle might have to make an apperance also.

If I look at that Steam sale page any longer, there's a chance my credit card is goingto spontaneously combust. Bastards!

Hmm, picked up Trials 2 for $2.50. Now I can't afford lunch

Got some Best Buy credit, but at $37, L4D is too good to resist.

I laughed out loud with this.

I can't get Bioshock to appear : I only get the HD Trailer and Demo. I'm trying both on a browser and directly on the Steam App.

So far:
Psychonauts
Longest Journey
AudioSurf

I only bought Company of Heroes. I'm proud of myself

Check "top rated."

Might be some kind of regional exemption?

Here's a link straight to it through their web interface. $4.99? Holy crap!

oh well...

Argh, anyone else have Steam problems with Visa? It never likes my address, and it seems random. Sometimes it works with a dash in my Postal Code, sometimes it doesn't like the pound sign for my Apartment number, etc.

I got a couple games this morning, but it just won't let me gift a few more to my son, using the SAME address used before. Always says that it doesn't match the address on file. I'm sure I have several charges that will need to be revoked now, and my Visa company has probably red-flagged it.

Unrelated (in a way) but a couple weeks ago I tried buying some Steam Merchandise, it took my $160 payment, but it never acknowledged the order. My Visa company said it would be revoked and returned within a week or two, but I have little faith in whatever gears are turning their Credit Card payment apps.

Are you entering your address exactly as it appears on your credit card statement? I know that some companies want "Apt" or "Unit" instead of "#".

My Visa always works, no problem. Kinda wish I had problems, to be honest. I'd probably buy less.
