Clear Them Out, While You Still Have a Chance

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate is done! I really enjoyed it and hope people give it a shot either on the 3DS or on XBL/PSN come October.

Is this happening? Really? I think I'll definitely get it when it drops on either of the consoles, then. Something more to look forward to. :D

October 31st for the 360 and PS3.

I'm an old man. Is a Let's Play a compete playthrough? I thought it was just a slice.

Typically complete playthrough. But some people have taken the Uncharted games and (supposedly) The Last of Us and done drastically shortened cuts that focus on the cutscenes and some gameplay for a more movie-like feel.

I barely knew what they were last year, old man.

I can't see myself ever opting to watch a game like that. Experience and play are the whole point of the medium.

Nice job, Fed. Both Demon's and Dark Souls lingers on my pile. I just can't quite get into them.

Dark Souls is definitely the better of the two. It's really a successor to the original Legend of Zenda in terms of the exploration and limited dialogue/hints. Love almost everything about it.

Demon's Souls was good, but Dark Souls improved on it so much that it seems kind of dated already.

Edit: And I'm not declaring this one, but I may try and finish off Bioshock Infinite before SR4 arrives this Tuesday. I dialed the difficulty down from hard to normal, since the combat is crap anyway. I think I'm right at the end.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels this way. I was super addicted to Dark Souls when it hit PC and played straight through to the end. Then I bought a PS3 for the first time and, of course, Demon's Souls was one of the first games I played on it. Strangely, it simply hasn't grabbed me the same way that Dark Souls did. I really don't understand it, as they are so similar.

Woohoo, I'm declaring Infamous 2 as DONE! I really loved it, even more so than the original, which I only finished a couple of months back. So that's a lot of Infamous in a relatively short period of time, which might be why I did wind up getting tired of it a bit before reaching the last boss (which SUCKED). That being said, it was a great improvement over the original and it will be interesting to see what new features they bring to the table with Second Son.

And Poker Night 2 is down! Still working on unlocking extra deck, chip and table skins, but now it's just completion.

So now you're part of the 1%?

As an aside, do you play poker in RL? I play a little online and small tourneys locally, but nothing special.

Finished up McPixel yesterday, so that's like 2 whole games finished this month!

I'm still grinding for the gold medals, hoping for my last card drop before I have to trade.

Is Dead Space 3 (multi) old enough to count? I forget when that first came out. If so, add it to the list as I'm a reasonable chunk of the way through it so far.

Not hugely impressed with it so far. Nice production values but practically everything else seems designed to annoy me (Especially the fact that someone on it's design team seems to think in order to make something scary you just need to make it really fast and REALLY LOUD!).

Also you can remove Jack Keane from there. Just can't get into that game at all, and half the time the mouse pointer is invisible anyway. I'll try to return to it at a later date.

Ni No Kuni is in the books. What a ride it was! I will tackle the post-endgame contents by and by, so for pile purposes, this one is done. Now, to polish off Infamous 2!

I used to play every now and then with some friends. We'd all chip in 10€ to make things interesting, the third would break even, and the first two places would split the winnings. Ever since we moved away, however... We do have a friend who plays tarot with a big group and I try to join in when I can but the logistics make it complicated

... And Professor Layton and the Curious Village is beaten! I still have 4 puzzles left to solve, but these are bonuses, not story puzzles. I will probably do them this weekend.

And that leaves Valkyria Chronicles for the rest of the month. Unless it's super rainy this weekend, I don't think there's any chance I'm going to beat this this month, but we'll see.

...and finished Dead Space 3. That was a slog and a half.

Most lasting thing I'm going to take away from that game is this headache.

Saints Row 4 and the Guild Wars 2 one year celebration have sucked up my time on pile clearing. I might try to knock out Bastion since according to how long to beat it should take about 5 hours.

Decided to jump into Ghost Warrior 2 after finishing the first. Story is still cheese and the gameplay is a solid C+/B- but I'm still a sucker for the bullet cam. Wrapped it up this evening.

3 down this month, not too shabby for a change.

I haven't played Penny Arcade: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness Episode 1 in a few days. This does not bode well...

Hey, look at that--I actually finished a game that I declared for the month! Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm was just wrapped up. And with a whole week to go!. Honestly, I didn't think I was going to finish--I've been bouncing between so many games lately that I wasn't expecting to finish anything. That goes for pile games and new releases (I'm looking at you, SMT IV).

Next month should prove pretty interesting where my gaming goes. There's a few new releases that I'm looking forward to, in addition to some "new releases" that came out this month that I haven't even fired up yet.

This month I have completed Megamind (360/multi), Trine 2 (360/multi), and South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play! (360).

Saints Row the Third is completely done, with all DLC finished and a 1300/1300 game score. I don't get all the achievements in most games, because there's usually something in there where I decide it's too much trouble to do, but this one was fun throughout. Great game!
