XBLA Catch-Much: Farewell to XBLA

It's pretty good, the emulation is near-perfect. The ommission of Two-Player mode is a shame though.
25 minutes into playing it, however, most of the achievements were unlocked. But, is Galaga!

Is there any alternate game modes? Galaga '88 or '94? Anything besides the original?

The original game, two player offline, but not two-player online. One more achievement to go on this one to complete it.

Disappointing.

There's more than one type of Galaga?

NERDS!

Are a lot of people here looking forward to the Street Fighter 2 Release? It was a little before my time, but it would be nice to have a decent fighter.

O yeah It's the only xbl arcade game lately I will get at the moment, I mean I have geometry wars and uno but I am pumped for Street Fighter even though at first I wasn't sure about it. but I am sure it will rock, plus I love Street Fighter

I never really played Street Fighter 2 in the arcade, too many little kids beating each other up most of the time.

I have tons of Live Arcade games, but I am most looking forward to this.

I pray for smooth enough online play that I can lay some Chun Li smackdown on punk-ass bitches.

Definitely in for Street Fighter.

After that I'm pretty down on most of the Arcade releases except for Castle Crashers.

Lumines? Alien Hominid? Small Arms?

Contra, Scramble, Paperboy, Defender, and a sick fascination for Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3? Hmm my first 100% achievement complete 360 game- Galaga...

Wow...Alien Hominid, Small Arms, SF2, Defender, and Contra sounds like a list made in heaven to me!

Alien Hominid
Assault Heroes
Castle Crashers
Contra
Cyberball
Defender
Dig Dug
Diner Dash
Heavy Weapon
HoopWorld
Lumines Live!
Mad Tracks
Mega Force
Mini Golf
Ms. Pac-Man
Mutant Storm Empire

Who's considered the most useless character in Street Fighter 2?

Whoa, where'd this come from? That's a lot of yummies!

Either Joystiq or Engadget, forgot which one. They're mostly the same! Ms Pac-Man, Lumines Live, the arcade Contra series, Time Pilot? Get my rug-covered-wall-n-cigarette stink on at the roller rink.. (that or Pixie Dust near the Tilt-A-Whirl smell....)

It's also interesting all of the bitching about no games on some other boards. It's a fekkin business, "I don't want my lesser-known title released the same time as the biggies (Street Fighter 2, Lumines, HoopWorld,)" OR "I don't want my biggy losing sales because of a lesser known, possibly cheaper title biting into my sales." They're not doing this for free. Nobody gets it.

Didn't know UMK3 was in the works, that will be awesome to pick up especially if they nail down the lag with online play.

I'm definitely grabbing Lumines, Street Fighter and UMK3 are high possibilities as well.

Any release dates for Lumines?

Who's considered the most useless character in Street Fighter 2?

Which version? With the threat of starting a holy war, I would say Dalsim (sp?) or Zangief.

I used to think this as well ... until recently when I learned to use Dhalsim effectively. He can be quite formidable.

Around E3 there was a rumor of a late-August Lumines Live, my money's on the pre-holiday lull of late September- mid-October.

Woo, pinball! Got to figure out how to turn my projector on its side to get the proper pinball-table aspect ratio

The only honorable way to play SFII is for you and your opponent to start on opposite sides of the character selection board, and then play one match with each character, with best overall record declared the winner.

I don't care for Lumines, already played Alien Hominid, and have no idea what Small Arms even is

It's been out for around 45 minutes

I really enjoy it, it's pretty cool

I played a couple games and my first one was really laggy but after that it wasn't laggy at all,

strange.

I'll want to see a bunch of review of the multiplayer lag before I sign on. Otherwise, it will be a receipe for high blood pressure and holes in my wall.

I've got Street Fighter Alpha 3 for the Xbox and it's almost unplayable online. There's always a terrible delay between button press and onescreen action. The best it's ever been is like playing in treacle - the worst, and most often, is just frustration that nothing seems to f*cking work.

To be honest, I'd buy Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting for $10 if there was no online play. But I'm still hoping that the online mode is at least playable so that I can remind myself that I really suck. Anyone going to set up a quarter muncher mode (or whatever the hell they're calling it) tonight?

What the hell is a treacle?

Yea Cyberball! Maybe if they do a good job I can finally unload my hulking arcade machine. It's just cyberball, not tournament cyberall 2072?
