Saints Row The Third Catch-All

Invincible does have the superhero costumes though, and if you pick up the Maximum Pleasure Pack, you effectively get it for 2 cents.
Edit - Maybe it doesn't? I can't remember offhand if the super hero outfits are available at Let's Pretend in the base game.

I don't have any DLC (yet?), and can buy the superhero costumes in my game.

I bought the pack at the same time I bought the base game, so I assumed that since the screenshots of it had the superhero outfit, it was part of the pack. Kind of a bummer that it's just a cheat-only DLC, but I got it as part of the pack I linked during the daily sale it had a few weeks ago, so it's not like I paid much for it.

If the Season Pass is on sale for $5, jump the hell on that right now. I paid $20 and had no regrets.

Funtime is the only other pack I've considered, but by the time they released it (it was originally only for pre-orders), I was done with the game. The stuff in it seemed cool enough to buy if I was still playing the game.

I made sure to check the SR3 wiki for the details and it was only cheats, and a couple of those are unlockable in the game normally. Which is pretty lame if you ask me.

One of our Summer Santa's (Evan) hooked me up with this, and I fired it up last night to see what all the fuss is about. Wow, the intro is the best intro to any game ever. It perfectly set the tone for the game, which was exactly what I was hoping for. I played some SR2, but it was a bit too much GTA and lacking in the silly aspects for me to really love it. This I'm thoroughly enjoying. I played through the 3rd mission, and now I might explore some of the city, see if I can buy some new clothes or something, maybe pick up a new car or two.

I may have screwed myself on the assassination missions. I'm supposed to kill some prostitutes and then enrage the Morning Stars but in the area that I'm supposed to do this, I have 100% control so Morning Stars never seem to spawn here.

Yeah, it's possible to screw yourself on some of the Saints Book missions. Usually the carjacking ones (hang on to an extra Enforcer, that's all I'll say).

I'd recommend playing through at least until you get a safehouse with a helipad (which is surprisingly early in the game. I think it's the second safehouse you unlock). Helicopters are easy to get (there are always two at the airfield and several armed helicopters spawn regularly at the National Guard base), and if you have the Witches & Wieners, Spec Ops, or Money Shot DLC that'll give you access to your aircraft.

I was planning on doing the assassination and car theft missions after I finished taking over everything. I guess I'll switch those now.

I've even tried dragging hostile Morning Stars into the area from somewhere else but when I do that no prostitutes spawn.

Good thing I was planning on a second play through anyway.

I have all 3 of those.

I really love the tone of the game. Like I said, the intro captured it all, and I'm very pleased that's kept up. The character customization was also awesome, my partner and I had a blast looking through all the praises/taunts.

I thought it was one of the best intros to a game ever. Loved ever second of it.

The best time to get all that side stuff done is right before the mission

Spoiler:

I Am Cyrus Temple.

It's the one where you need to infiltrate the aircraft carrier. I hope that's not too much of a spoiler, compared to the spoiler in the mission name. You get some cool unlocks from that mission, but it's also the one where STAG raises most of the bridges in the city. They will be like that permanently, and it makes some of the carjacking missions harder because some vehicles just don't ramp bridges very well. At that point in the game you also have access to all the vehicles you're going to need and I believe there'll still be pockets of the various gangs around (I may be wrong about that).

Dammit. I'm past that mission. Guess I should finish the storyline now. Haven't played it in months anyway, so it's about time I do.

I have done that mission and there are still pockets of gangs about. What seems to make them disappear is your control of the area. It seems that grabbing as much control as possible early on can screw up the Saints Book missions also.

That's okay, you don't need the Morning Stars to spawn. You just need to go there at night when there are prostitutes.

Wiser words have never been spoken.

They mostly cuome at night. Mostly.

Another character design.

Rei Ayanami

I'm not sure which Angel that is behind her.

That looks like a weird blue version of Phillipe from Achewood behind her O_o

Other than Cayne, who offered himself a coop partner, is there anyone who would like to coop through SR3? There are probably some newbies around? I am new and haven't started yet.

How does coop work, do you bring your character in from your world?

I just beat the story last night, but am still far from done. If you see me online I'd be up for co-op.

So I'm also new to this and really enjoying it so far! Like ahrezmendi said, the intro is damn awesome!

So I tried the car jackings, stole the first one, but when I did the second one, i was looking for the car when a message came up saying "the target car has been destroyed".... what the? So have I screwed that now? Can I redo it? I didn't even see the car.

Just reselect it on the phone. It'll respawn.

Awesome!

Also, any decent mods which make the graphics better? Higher res texture packs or something?

You're talking about unpixelating the naughty bits, aren't you.

I'm always up for some co-op gaming, and I'm a courteous co-op partner. I'll let you take the lead. I'm real gentle. And if the combat's getting too easy, I'll switch to my chainsaw and just provide support.

I just might show up looking like a toilet is all.

I enjoy a chugging framerate in the single digits when it starts raining in a crowded intersection (for example, one littered with dead bodies and the smoking husks of a dozen Decker cars) but once I have my new machine I'd be up for some co-op. Funny that even with my crap performance on the low graphics settings I've still put 27 hours into this game.

Oh and if the combat is too easy, that's too bad because I'm not getting off my jet bike.
