After ~50 hours of Stardew on PC, I finally picked it up on Switch a few weeks ago. And for Christmas, I got the Guidebook and man is that thing a great package! Useful info, good reference, and beautifully designed. I think I first read about it in this thread? In any case, highly recommended.
Isn't it gorgeous? I also got the vinyl soundtrack and the Junimo coloring book (which I ended up gifting to Mrs. McIrish).
I had a very hard time explaining my romantic plans in the game to my 5-year old daughter, who was distressed that I'd gotten to 9 hearts with Shane while only at 8 hears with Leah and Penny. I told her that she shouldn't worry because I wasn't planning to marry Shane or anyone else until I've gotten all of the single characters up to 10 hearts. She asked why I was doing that and I was stumped beyond "well, that's what you do! there are hearts to be filled in and my goal is to fill them! you make the hearts go up!" I agree with her in principle that it would be preferable to be able to max your hearts out with everyone without giving bouquets out to multiple characters, but I guess my little farmer's love just knows no bounds and, until I give someone a ring, none of my boyfriends' or girlfriends' feelings will be hurt. But if this game gives me a box to check off, I'm going to check it!
My wife lives in Stardew Valley now.
She is looking for efficiency tips.
Should I move to Stardew Valley? It looks nice there.
Also, I miss my wife.
She would send this message herself, but she's too busy cramming a day's worth of work into twenty minutes.

Spoiler:She would send this message herself, but she's too busy cramming a day's worth of work into twenty minutes.
Which way round is that... Do you mean she's trying to cram a full day of real life work into 20 minutes so she can spend the rest of the day in Stardew Valley? :)
There are several redheads to choose from.

Ah so that's why I clicked on this thread, someone was singing the song of my people.
Robin's taken though, so don't get your hopes up.
How hard do you guys think it would be to rearrenge an entire farm? Im thinking of doing it at the start of next season for something more eye pleasing and organized.
The only real thing that's tough to rearrange at the end of winter is orchard trees.

I volunteer to wreck their home and temp Demetrius! Marrying his kids just isn't doing it for me.

Can you actually move them without replanting?
Nope

This is how my wife plays CK2. Import redheads from Ireland and Bulgaria, and form a dynasty of them in some unexpected place.
Dammit, people, I saw all the activity in this thread and thought multiplayer had dropped.

If this whole incident is world war one, I am the Gavrilo Princip and my mentioning that my wife is playing Stardew Valley is the assassination of the Archduke. QS's mentioning of redheads is Germany moving into Belgium. Dee tempting Demetrius is Austria-Hungry invading Serbia. Your noticing of activity is Wilson declaring neutrality.
Basically Stardew Valley is the greatest WWI strategy game ever made.

10/10 would play again.

That’s how I played Fallout Shelter. I started with one redhead named Cori Banks and she was the grand matriarch of a line of brown-skinned redheads.
I guess we’re progressing to WWII now...
My farm refresh has begun, the first week of summer has been insanely busy with moving all gardening plots and complete relocation of animal area. Speaking of animals, what are you opinions of them? How have you guys managed to keep sustained grass growing in their pens?

I enjoy keeping animals but I'm not super into maximizing farm output. I've been naming all of mine after gods from various mythologies.
There's a trick with grass where you put a fence post on top of a piece of grass and animals won't eat it. (They seem to only eat grass they're standing on.) So I've got a few of those scattered around my animal pen to spawn more grass from.
Pigs and truffle oil machines to really rake in the money with minimum effort.
The beta for multiplayer has started!!!

Reading replies to the twitter seems it also has tons of new stuff for singleplayer only people.
I've just hit my 2nd winter in my Switch playthrough, and I'm starting to lose steam. I've completed the community center, married Leah (after amassing 10 or so boyfriends and girlfriends), had a baby, built every upgrade, raised every animal, etc. I've still got some tasks to accomplish--I haven't hit level 25 of skull cavern, I could upgrade some more of my tools, I still need more iridium to build better sprinklers, and I could target more extreme achievements like shipping every item or cooking every recipe--but I'm feeling less enthusiastic about those goals. Which is fine, between the Switch and PC I've put 100+ hours into this game. It's always weird when, in a game like this, a switch gets flipped in your brain that finally causes you to say "what's the point of all this, anyway?" But maybe the single player updates supposedly included with the pending multiplayer update will give me new motivation?
I sometimes get that "what's the point" feeling, but absence does make the heart grow fonder. In other words, it's a game I come back to time and again, especially since it's on a portable platform like the Switch. It also challenges my inner completionist; I still need to cook all the recipes.
Multiplayer Update / Content patch is officially out.
Patch Notes
Took long enough! All that packed into less than 30mbs too.

Folks, seriously, LAN multiplayer Stardew Valley with your family is just the best. (We've been playing the beta.) You just copy the game files over to each computer (one per player), start up a new game on one, then everyone else connects to its IP address. You only need one copy of the game in this configuration. As long as the version and mods are the same on each, it's magic. You can split up farm/town tasks or form a cave-delving wrecking crew. Super-fun!
Don't really care much about the multiplayer, but....ohhh look at all the other stuffs! And hats on horses...love love love!
But... I hate my family!
I agree with Quintin. I'm interested in the new features but I hate his family!
Finally, I can invite friends and family to marvel at the splendor of Trichy's Sex Farm.

So do you... do you farm sex? Is that more vegetable or animal product?
