What are you defining as a turn, if you don't mind me asking?
A day.

A day.
A week. Gotta get those parsnips in.
In reality, a turn usually ends up being 3 or 4 am.

I have that problem with many games but with SV I find it pretty peaceful and calm and I just stop. I don't feel any pressure to keep going until the crop comes in, for example.
A day takes about 25 minutes for me.
Now that I have it on the Switch, it's a lot easier to pause by just putting the Switch to sleep, so I can play out a day in 5 minute chunks. I'm getting about one SV day per real-time day.

How does a day take 25 minutes? Doesn't it pass at the same speed no matter what?
Well yes and no. Some people go to sleep earlier than others, and some people spend more time with the game paused while they organize items. And I believe that the cutscene's also don't count against your "time".
Yeah, pausing is the main thing. Also a few other things, like when you're fishing, time doesn't advance during the mini-game part (though it does while you're waiting for bites, reeling the fish in, etc.).
I'm at the beginning of my 2nd fall. Money isn't an issue anymore, unless there's something I'm missing. I've earned 1.1 million gold total and have 400k on hand. Should I even bother planting crops? My animal products net 10k a day after processing. Kinda running low on things to do. Any suggestions? I am probably going to marry, get to the 2 year mark, and put the game to rest.

Have you completed all the bundles? I reached the same point as you. I made my goals to be get married, have a kid, and appease my grandfather at the beginning of the third year. I found the end game a little boring as the act of setting up my farm wasn't as interesting as completing quests.
I stopped in Spring of my 3rd year. Got all the bundles, haven't gotten married yet, but there's not much left to do that I haven't done over and over again.

Just missing one fish that only appears in Fall.

Sounds like you've met my friend Factorio.
On my third farm now, Switch hype encouraged me to try again. I’m about at the farthest I’ve ever made it - winter of year 1.
I love the game. Just so many other things to engage with keep pulling my attention. And toddlers, they do that too. But coming in fresh, this third time, I feel like there’s a spark of things going better on the farm.
I just wish it would rain more. I want to get to the bottom of the mine, and rainy days are the best for that.

For a while this weekend I was bouncing back and forth between these (the result of an empty house and a sudden amount of free time). Thank god my wife and kids returned when they did or I might never have slept.
I'm in Autumn of my third year this time around. Married to Maru with a son I named Noctis. What? It's fitting; he stays in his crib all day. (The dog is Prompto, the horse is Gladiolus, and stardrops remind me of Specs.) Made about 1.5 million so far, but this winter I'm going to rearrange my farm plots (woodland farm) for more efficient Junimo hut usage, so I can spend more time wooing the villagers. My greenhouse is used for fruit trees, melons (for pink cake), and ancient fruit (for that sweet, sweet, wine)! One fish short of the complete collection (the winter legendary).
#stardewgoals (I’ve got to think of more to do)
Boy, the new Switch update sure fixed those load times. Hoping the crashing stuff is fixed as well as the left speaker output going crackly sometimes when docked.
Can definitely attest to better save/load times and the crackling being gone.
I just got married!!

I'm pretty sure Maru plays Kerbal Space Program when she wants a break from building actual robots.
I recognize I may be in significant minority here, but I play with a Steam controller, and it is pretty great for playing from the couch. But I may add a y/n button press not for dialogs to my config.
Ohh me too. The right track pad works great for directing the cursor.
I'm playing on the Switch now, but I haven't put it up on the screen yet.
I love this game but seriously Junimo Kart needs to die a firey death.
This play through I got incredibly lucky. Very early on in Year 1 of spring I fished both a glow ring and an obsidian sword out of the ocean. The sword was such a high level that it saw me through to the bottom of the mines. Still not worked out what to do with the dino bones in the desert. No direct spoilers please but.....is there an object I need to feed them? And if so is it intuitive?
