If you do not get on to Northern Shiverpeaks, just roll on an open world and use your free transfer to Northern Shiverpeaks when it is no longer full.

Sounds eminently sensible.

+1

With the server settled, lets start talking about priorities for influence spending and the guild emblem.

For the emblem, anyone who wants to submit one either post here or PM me an image and in a couple of days I will put them up for a vote. The link to the emblem creator: http://botorubattalion.com/emblemCre...

Here is a basic summary of how influence works and what we can get from it: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Infl...

I would say start with Architecture till we can work on two upgrades at a time then split between Architecture and Economy for storage and xp. Once we have some storage get enough in politics for our emblem. What do you guys think?

In my limited experience with MMOs, guild storage is pretty important. Mats will drop as we level, won't be able to use them ourselves, good to have a depository for them.

you missed the other vote i cast or just ignored it?

I have you listed as Jade Quarry and Yaks bend, not other?

Spoiler:

8/16/2012 19:05:29 ranalin Jade Quarry (strong WvW guild presence, strong chance of over crowding) Solo PvE and world exploration, Group PvE world exploration, Group PvE dungeon raiding, Structured team PvP and pick up matches, World vs World PvP Yes Yes No some of us are going where the pvp(wvw) will be this time around. yak's bend

Sounds about right, though it'll probably take a week before we have enough influence to start upgrades so we have some leeway to revisit.

Hmm I don't know why that would be wrong. Here is the link to view the data, just opened it so everyone can view it.

Politics will allow us to have a guild emblem, as well as having armor that displays a guild emblem. Not directly important, but pretty cool nonetheless. Those are some pretty nifty bonuses that ANet has implemented.

Did anyone get the digital deluxe or collector's edition of GW2? That comes with an item that can be redeemed for some as-yet-unspecified amount of guild Influence right off the bat. If we have enough of those, we may be building guild upgrades pretty quickly.

ya I totally forgot about the starting points for the deluxe edition, if a few members got it and want to contribute those points towards us then that should account for the first few upgrades

I will commit mine for sure

We are now listed on GW2Guilds.org

http://www.gw2guilds.org/view-guild/...

If you think we should change any of the info listed there let me know.

Had a look at other guilds listed as on other server. Good to see we are on the same server as team legacy. They are poised to be a big player on wvw and have a strong positive vision of the value added of smaller guilds.

It's probably time to start building the initial invite list.

do we want to make a separate thread where everyone interested just posts their user ID, or do we just do it in here?

I can make a Google spreadsheet that everyone can add their name to. I'll do this later today.

There's actually a good chance Team legacy will change servers. They have a big alliance and they want to make sure everyone gets in. So we might see a lot of those guilds migrate away. They have a mailing list for those who want to end up on their server.

OK here is the form to get your account name add to our list to help speed up invites once the guild is created.

Well they created the community portal at: http://www.northernshiverpeaks.com/
So I don't think they're going to leave before hand.

I hope you're right since they will certainly be a positive influence on WvW, however they have repeatedly stated on their podcast that they might switch servers to get all of their members in at launch.

Speaking of their podcast, here it is http://www.talesoftyria.com/ It has pretty decent production and covers a wide range of topics.

Am glad to roll with the GWJ Guild on Northern Sliverpeaks. Looks to be quite a number of guilds from my timezone will be on that server as well, so It wouldn't be too quiet during my usual playtimes.

Getting quite excited. Only 4 days to go to head start.
How can I help out in the guild?

After reading a bunch of drama-lama posts on guru, I honestly don't know if their whole 'declared' presence on NSP is just a distraction or legit. Frankly I just want to play the game. Also I'll use that guild influence bonus item at launch.

Tuesday, August 21 from 12:00 Noon PACIFIC Time to 4:00 PM PACIFIC Time.

Looks like my regular crew has settled on Gates of Madness, so that'll be my home. Anybody have good info on how guesting and cross-server guilds work?

I'm looking forward to finally being able to play this weekend. Can't wait!
