All I know if I will pre-order as soon as a release date is set. Looks perfect to me.

Any news on a Europe/PAL release date? I'm with you!

Also, BIG THANK YOU to everyone who recommended EO:IV. Took out a Cutter and a FuryHorn yesterday, loving it!

I love seeing all the EO IV posts!

In that case - yesterday I liberated the Lush Woodlands!

I must be about 5 hours behind you. I hit 3F last night and took out the

with very little trouble. All members are around level 15, would you recommend forging ahead to take on the beast at the centre of floor 3, or do I need to level up a bit more?

I was around level 13-14 at the time - but - confession time: I'm playing on casual! Only wiped completely once or twice so I really should change it to normal.

Only real hint I can give is to avoid fighting everyone at once. The game hints at this when you enter the boss area and it's easy enough to arrange.

He he...

We've discussed the latter one a bit here. I'm really excited for it. It's currently a $40 pre-order at Amazon. Here's some gameplay (Japanese, natch):

Edit: missed Dangan Ronpa for vita... no idea what this game is.

Yep, Demon Gaze is a dungeon crawler from the developers of the Lunar games.

Danganronpa is a horror visual novel that's a bit like a cross between Virtue's Last Reward and Ace Attorney. You follow a group of high schoolers who get trapped in a school and start to murder one another.

The Witch and the Hundred Knight is an action-RPG from the developers of Disgaea.

Speaking of Disgaea, the director of Disgaea 4 is apparently working on a new Vita game for Idea Factory. Idea Factory is the publisher of Agarest War as well as the co-developers of Hyperdimension Neptunia.

Witch and the Hundred Knights has been "coming soon" forever at this point.

I'm somewhat interested in Demon Gaze now that you mention devs from Lunar games.... if it has the charm of lunar it may be a reason to get a vita for me.

The witch game looks interesting aswell...

Yeah... been waiting and waiting for some release info on it. Sometime in 2014 is the closest they've said, I believe.

The Witch and the Hundred Knight is in my Amazon Gold Box at least once a week---so tempted to pull the trigger on the pre-order but then I look at my giant pile of games and hold off.

Yeah, 2014 is the only release range they've given for Witch and the Hundred Knight (singular), although for some reason I think it's "Early 2014". It apparently was delayed in its Japanese release date, too, as it only came out a few months ago there.

"Early" 2014 is the last thing that I saw.

Disgaea 4 and The Guided Fate Paradox are all I care about. I'll probably get Paradox at launch though as I'm stupid excited for it.

Re: Witch and the 100 Knight release date, Amazon originally had it slated for March 31st (e.g. "Q1") but has now moved it to March 18th. Because of the date change, that feels fairly solid, but take it with a grain of salt anyway.

Although I think at one point it was Mar 31 2013. And then maybe some other date for 4th Q this year. Seems like it has been available for pre-order for a long time. Hope it's really coming.

I'm super excited for it, too. It's on my wishlist since I'm finally getting a PS3.

Although (sincerely) I wish it were a Vita game. Dungeon crawlers of that sort tend to play better on handhelds than home consoles.

I'm actually quite surprised it isn't, but it's probably a better financial move for them as they can port it to the Vita later (not to mention the PS4).

Another Bravely Default trailer from today's Nintendo Direct:

The European release date is December 6th. The North American release date is still Q1 2014.

Heh, even the spell names are from Final Fantasy.

And crystals. Which makes sense because I think this was originally billed as a spiritual successor to Final Fantasy: 4 Heroes of Light when it was first announced.

Cosmic Star Heroine Kickstarter is live. Zeboyd's been saying all the right things about the game and their KS campaign so I'll be throwing money at this when I get home.

See, this is the kind of game I want to see show up in the main console FF franchise again. No, it doesn't have to be every entry, but at least once in an entire console generation would be nice.

I'm glad we're at least getting this for the 3DS, but man... I'm very disappointed that we didn't get a single traditional FF title on the 360 or PS3. The closest we got to that style was Lost Odyssey, which was good, but not great (IMO).

The name Edea is from Final Fantasy VIII.

I thought LO was fantastic, but there is definitely room for more than one game of that style.

Yup, looks like Bravely Default will be a purchase. I may cancel my PS4 preorder and just enjoy all the 3DS/Vita games coming later this year and early next year.

No one has mentioned that Idea Factory announced it international branch today in California?

Between my 3DS, and my backlog, I'm think I'm set to wait out the next gen 'for a while' too. I'm really excited by the SteamBoxe's controller and SteamOS, plus, the next purchase for me will most likely be one of the new Vitas (or a run-out OLED one, depending on reviews). If the remote play between that and the PS4 works as well as they demonstrate, then I'll be in heaven when I eventually drop the money on that 'big' purchase.

On topic, ETRIAN ODYSSEY IV IS f*ckING AMAZING!?!?

Especially the way I can nibble on this one while the kids are playing.

Clocky, you were spot on in terms of a portable platform being 'right' for my gaming needs. Thanks again!

Hm. Got the demo last night but haven't played it. Guess I should give it a whirl while it's on eShop sale.
