Cube World: Exploration-based ARPG/Hack-and-Slash

Over or not, I got my copy. Looking forward to checking this out.

I will be on tonight as well. Are there any other servers besides mantis? Are they still limited to 4?

There was a list of them - perhaps even in-game? I think Mantis is the only GWJ one though. Not sure on the play limit, but I've only ever seen 3 people on at once, including myself.

Well Mantis' server is probably not going to work time zone wise, logged in this morning and it was dark and scary. Id rather something that was daylight haha. I only had about 10 min before work just to screw around, so I haven't investigated as much as i should have.

Time isn't real-time. I'm GMT +1 currently, so that should be out-of-sync with Mantis, but it's fine Also, night doesn't last that long, iirc, it springs forwrad to 7am and things suddenly turn to daylight.. but that could just be in single player.

I'll be on in approx 3.5 hours all going to plan

Picked this up. Yes, I'm a little bit of a filthy skimmer... did I miss where the GWJ server was mentioned?

I logged into mantis' server at about 730am ET, and server time was 0:30, and pitch black. I wasn't sure if it was real time or not, thanks!

Sure, just stood one up at cube.liquidmantis.com. It's just the stock server, so four players max right now. I figured that we could start there before pressing our luck with stability.

You have a Torch - press 'F'. it's not great, but it's better than nothing! If in doubt, find an Inn in town, or a camp fire and just sleep through the darkness.

If i recall correctly: cube.liquidmantis.com . Unless, of course, I don't remember correctly...

Ruhk's "The Baron" has an awesome lantern. Apparently it was a dungeon find.

is it purple, or yellow? I think purple is the brightest?

The gold star is the brightest. I only have purple.

How are newer players finding the lag on Mantis' server?

The lag is noticeable, but not terrible. What's annoying is the disconnections, but at least it lets me keep playing after that.

It's me throttling connections from CA. Damned westies.

I had no idea you were biased against us Californians.

Strange, I've had next to no lag from waaaay over here in the land-with-history. Strange it should act up for you locallers.

I knew it!!!

I know you were saying it's the game, Mantis, and I trust you.. just curious if others are seeing what I'm seeing. It is pretty much playable most of the time.

Oh, and I just found a bark beetle pet. Ridable!? Faaaantastic!

I will read up on setting up a server, I have no issue with hosting a USEast one, if people desire.

No worries. That was really targeted at Veloxi and his spurning of CO for his square miles of concrete and asphalt.

IT'S ALL DIRT THERE! DIIIIRT

Sometimes there's snow!

So I guess crashing when trying to connect indicates a server issue?

Sho'nuff.

Back up now.

Not only is the server up. But you've made a Last Dragon quote... A gentleman and a scholar sir.

Learning curve on this game is brutal to start. And, really, my dodge roll is middle mouse? The one button I am psychologically incapable of acknowledging, yet alone using.

I must have some sort of Stockholm syndrome setting in though because I'm loving it!

Quick tips:

  1. Use M2 attacks often, they usually pack a special effect and hit for a lot of damage.
  2. Use food between fights, use potions in fights, don't be shy about using them! (Your enemies will be using potions!)
  3. Avoid fighting groups of monsters. You CAN selectively pull individual monsters out of a group.
  4. Head to the potion shop in town ASAP and buy the pet food to get a pet first, makes a huge survivability difference.
  5. sometimes death is the smarter path, rather than wasting resources and time to struggle on (curse you, Skull Bulls!)

Just me evading some uber Gobs on my Scottish Terrier.

Also, I'm hopping on Vent while playing online. Hanging out in the Minecraft channel.

(curse you, Skull Bulls!)

As far as I'm concerned winning the game is getting to a point where I can kill those damned skull bulls

Edit: Oooh, a double post! I do these so rarely! Thanks ya stupid finger, why'd you double click, ya putz?!
